For most people it won’t matter, they just want something that works.
- Comment on Report: Microsoft's latest Windows 11 24H2 update breaks SSDs/HDDs, may corrupt your data 4 days ago:
It depends on the use case. For incremental changes and validation of hypotheses in an uncertain or new product Agile is great. It allows for fast valuation and fast pivoting. I would not recommend Agile for systems that are mostly known and need a big upgrade, that’s not what its for.
Agile became a buzzword and shouldn’t have been implemented as widespread as it has. It does have its use cases though.

I’ve never had an issue of this gravity on Windows. I use Linux and it has its issues as well. Stability is not why I use Linux lmao

Even without support, itll probably take a while until you run into real issues.

They at least seem to care slightly more about the impact they have on the world and humans.

My thoughts exactly, I use Claude and find it much better than ChatGPT. Less hallucinations, more useful information

I quit everything except whatsapp, it’s virtually impossible without actually impacting my life negatively. Been trying and some friends have started using Signal, but most people don’t.
- Comment on Perplexity offers to buy Google Chrome for $34.5 billion 1 week ago:
I did some checking around on the web and it seems that the partnership is a standard APU license where Perplexity provides the technical infrastructure and Truth Social makes requests to there. The AI does contradict Trump regularly according to the Washington post: washingtonpost.com/…/truth-social-trump-ai-chatbo…
So I’m not sure if this is massively wrong. Or at least, not as bad as I thought it would be.

Goshdarnit, and I was really enjoying perplexity and its relatively low hallucinations and good sourcing of information.
- Comment on Here’s how to spot AI writing, according to Wikipedia 1 week ago:
Yup, there seems to be misinformation there. Even perplexity gets it wrong, but does say there’s some inconsistency between websites.

You overestimate the adaptability of the average software stack. I worked at companies where even adding another button to the cart screen was a monumental undertaking

Been there, done that. I also went to the Lenovo Legion Linux discord server. All great people, but their advanced solutions didn’t work either. Even people with exactly the same model didn’t have this issue. I have no idea what it could be, maybe something hardware related.
- Comment on AdGuard is yet another app to block Windows Recall 4 weeks ago:
I said in my previous comment an RTX3060 and an iGPU. I tried with the iGPU, without the iGPU, switching them, hybrid mode. Nvidia drivers, nouveau drivers, it’s always the same.
- Comment on AdGuard is yet another app to block Windows Recall 4 weeks ago:
Funny thing is, on my laptop there’s an issue with Linux and browsers. Any video or animation, even little animations, runs at like 3fps. This makes using a browser virtually impossible.
Everything else works well, but that just doesn’t make Linux an option for me right now. I tried a variety of browsers and distros. It’s really frustrating. It’s not even a bad laptop, Lenovo Legion 5 pro RTX3060.

- Comment on (LLM) A language model built for the public good 1 month ago:
I use perplexity as my main go to if i want to use an LLM, since they have access to a wide scale of models. It was correct in the cases you mentioned. It’s a tool focused on correctness of information and I’ve had it hallucinate a lot less than other tools.
Give it a shot if you’re looking for one that focuses on correctness of information. It searches the Web and then feeds the results into the model you choose.
You can also tell it to only use academic papers, social discussions, or SEC filings.

There’s usually buses from villages into the major cities though, it live in one and there’s a bus every hour to go to a nearby city, from where I can then take a train. I wouldn’t say it’s that bad

- Comment on Google’s Advanced Protection Arrives on Android: Should You Use It? 2 months ago:
It’s not weird. When a small company does something like this they lose users and it could damage them. Google doesn’t care because they know people will use them no matter what.
