- Comment on Are we all suffering from "future shock" in 2025? 5 weeks ago:
Probably just that. As an ESL, I never encountered or taught about em dash. I would use semicolons they way OP uses those weid longer dashes. Probably the em dash is better / more “proper” way.
- Comment on How can we make lemmy have more relevance? 5 weeks ago:
This is where I feel piefed is better for onboarding new threadiverse users, from reddit or elsewhere.
On sign up, they ask you for some topics you’d like to see, ask about how you want to see US politics being in your feed, and lastly they have set topics feed already that you can choose to view.
Personally I think piefed is the next good iteration of the threadiverse. It’s an in between of having to curate your feeds on your own (Lemmy and mbin) and algorithmic feed (reddit and other thread based social media).
Desktop use is already good, although personally I’d like Tesseract front end support. Mobile still needs to be picked up by more apps personally. Interstellar is good, but I like the “read on scroll” and “hide read posts” from Thunder. Despite that though, it’s also good already on mobile browsers
- Comment on The first folding e-reader is smaller than a paperback 1 month ago:
Adjacent to an e-reader, but Microsoft tried that. Typical Microsoft fashion, they fumbled it.
- Comment on Is there an easy way to create blocklist of post or comment for other people? 1 month ago:
When bluesky blew up last year almost instantly people made block lists, curated feeds list, etc of the sort. All built in. As much shit bluesky is getting for their wrongdoings, they did make very useful good things too.

I’m surprised and not surprised I guess that there’s a business offering to write Wikipedia articles like this. I suppose it’s naivety to think that Wikipedia articles are written with good intentions.

- Comment on In your opinion, which anime has the most badass villains? 1 month ago:
One comes to mind, but it doesn’t have an anime in a long time. Kind of. Desty Nova from GUNNM. To explain it would be spoilers, and I don’t really remember lol
Would need to reread Gunnm and Last Order again.
- Comment on Are Nintendo's $80 online game prices a result of tariffs or is Nintendo just using them as an excuse to price gouge as corporations do? 1 month ago:
After rereading your comment, I see it. My bad.
- Comment on What are some countries you’ve visited that shocked you with unexpected friendliness? 1 month ago:
Back when the world is simpler (because I was young and ignorant mostly) Moscow shocked me too. Had to study there for a few years and despite their gruff outward look they are some of the friendliest I’ve met at that time.
Only exception is riding the metro/tram during rush hour. Those babushkas aren’t playing around and will tackle you down
- Comment on Anthropic has developed an AI 'brain scanner' to understand how LLMs work and it turns out the reason why chatbots are terrible at simple math and hallucinate is weirder than you thought 1 month ago:
I think it’s odd in the sense that it’s supposed to be software so it should already know what 36 plus 59 is in a picosecond, instead of doing mental arithmetics like we do
At least that’s my takeaway
- Comment on Are Nintendo's $80 online game prices a result of tariffs or is Nintendo just using them as an excuse to price gouge as corporations do? 1 month ago:
I doubt this is because of the recent tariffs. Nintendo is a cold calculating bastard of an old corpo they must have planned this for years.
So my assumption this isn’t caused by that but just pure greed.
No doubt they’ll jack up the price more because of orange fuckhead pissing to the wind

I wish the steam deck is smaller NGL.
Or even offered officially to purchase in my country.

I got flack in a group chat for being highly cynical that the games industry, at least the “AAA” publishers, will adopt the new pricing standard.
Nintendo is doing it. They can use a flimsy excuse that they are using a stupid proprietary cart. Gamefreak was already doing it to save cost on higher storage carts. Even then they ship unoptimized shit and people lap it up like swines
GTA 6 will definitely be $100 and have no flimsy excuse
Ubitencent will get to it eventually I reckon after they finish fucking each other
- Comment on Are Nintendo's $80 online game prices a result of tariffs or is Nintendo just using them as an excuse to price gouge as corporations do? 1 month ago:
No, not all. It’s a an option. Basically yubikey DRM
Like even the game carts have a few choices for storage. For example, Pokemon pearl and diamond remake were notorious to go with the smaller storage carts where half the game is only downloadable

Same. I have a soft spot for MAL just because it’s one of the first and they have pretty lively forum still.
And I like their rating system as well as tracking.
I can even, and did, myspace the heck out of my lists page. A quirky and welcome holdout from the semi old internet

And if the filterbox dev would, you know, advertise their app like I remember Sam Ruston of buzzkill did on Reddit, maybe filter box would’ve been recommended more
- Comment on Other than a faulty charging port, is there any reason to use a wireless phone charger over wired? 2 months ago:
It is a hassle, even if very very slight. One you need to plug in something small. The other you just drop a big thing onto a slightly smaller big thing.
Arthritis, poor eyesight, poor lighting, temporary/permanent hand disability are some that I can think of that greatly benefits wireless charging and found plugging in a cable a hassle.

I didn’t want to put piefed yet since it’s still developing, but pretty fast and hard to give them credit. Is one I most looking forward to because of their topics and feeds. I thought I’d appreciate mbin having built in sorry for microblogs, but I didn’t even explore much of it

Feels that way to me. I wasn’t there like at the very beginning, but was able to be in a few small subreddits turn big. Lemmy/mbin a.k.a. threadiverse seems like it was before my time I started with reddit

Considering all the other 9 anime you listed, Demon Slayer getting in your list as one of the more generic shounen anime plot wise is a miracle in my opinion.
