I’ve got some bad news…
- Comment on The Crew 2: Offline Mode Update 1 day ago:
At the risk of being a negetive nancy, they haven’t done this with crew 1. So that game is still dead. This might just be a perfunctory action to quell support for the movement. They haven’t made any real promises to have EOL plans for all their games.(As far as I’ve seen)
- Comment on Frostpunk 1886 | New Game Announcement 3 days ago:
If they want some good will, they should make mod tools for the game.(Og one)
- Comment on This ICE-snitching app is actually promoting a meme coin 1 week ago:
No it hasn’t. It’s just that whenever you call a facist a facist they say “You call everyone a facist!”. This is how they work - they deny, delay and downplay any critique.
- Comment on German experiment gave people a basic monthly income – the effect on their work ethic was surprising 1 week ago:
I don’t even get this notion.
“Everyone will become a lazy bum!”. Humans biologically coded with the want to do SOMETHING. If you took current day scenarios of people wanting to not work at all, that’s only because WE HAVE TO WORK to live.
People want to remove stress, not be “lazy”.
And lazy is such a defective term.

Well, looks like 4A is prepping to announce Metro 4.

Also, african countries start paying spain, italy and Greece to keep the migrants there.
- Comment on Full Circle 2 weeks ago:
Brazil is super diverse to be fair. And it’s one the largest countries on the planet.
I like what Gusteau from ratatouille has to say about this - “Anyone can be a facist, but only the stupidest can be great at it”
Also Anton’s “Not everyone can become a great facist, but a great facist can come from anywhere”
- Comment on Full Circle 2 weeks ago:
It’d be hilarious to see a reverse migration.
- Comment on Full Circle 2 weeks ago:
Africa is beautiful, the only issue is safety.
Countries like namibia/botswana probably have less of these issues as well.
- Comment on Full Circle 2 weeks ago:
Yeah, but who doesn’t have fascists? At least they’re prosecuting theirs. Bolsonaro can’t stand for elections no more.
So, at least they’re back to the status quo, where they destroy the planet slowly.

Brazil is good. Nice food, people and forests.

- Comment on Eight years on, Mastodon stubbornly survives 2 weeks ago:
Yup, that’s a major reason people didn’t want to leave twitter. They’d built a following that they didn’t want to rebuilt.
I know people who hated elon Musk and had accounts on other microblogging platforms, but continued to post on twitter because that’s where they got their fill of engagement.
Shifting away from reddit to lemmy is fundamentally easier than it is from Twitter to mastadon. I think it’s part in due to reluctance to give up the following and the other is the decision paralysis. This is due to the nature of the type of social media platforms they are.

I quite enjoyed Elon getting bullied over POE2 stream.
- Comment on Ubisoft says you "cannot complain" it shut down The Crew because you never actually owned it, and you weren't "deceived" by the lack of an offline version 2 weeks ago:
No, please don’t sign if you are American. That can harm the petition with false signatures.
This is strictly ONLY for European union citizens!

Hijacking.
Are you European? Do you like games?
Do you want to own games again? and not just “License” them? Then please join the Stop destroying Videogames Initiative.
Initiative - citizens-initiative.europa.eu/…/000007_en
It’s an initiative to get the European parliament to discuss the matter all together, and Iirc, it already has some members that support it. (So It’s not just any ordinary petition that will go nowhere.)
We have already collected 42% of the 1 million signatures from European citizens required. But the deadline is June 2025 and if we don’t get enough signatures by then, it won’t be looked at by the European commission. So to at least get the matter to be discussed, please sign!
(ONLY FOR European Union citizens! No Brits! there’s another initiative for the UK.)

Same. It was my games festival. Though it was too corporatey, it was the one delightful part of the year where I could get excited about the most insignificant and significant announcements. And how could you forget the vague, CGI trailers that always overpromised.
The hype was real.
Why don’t gamescon or gamesaward feel this way?

It’s not some fucking witch hunt. He’s a pretentious asshole, who thinks he is better than everyone else.
And yes people can have their own opinions, but he misrepresented the goals of the petition on purpose. Then he refused to debate it with someone (who knows what the petition was actually about) on live when called out.
He has no balls or mana.

Yes, true that.

Sure, harm reduction is good. That’s what’s been happening in the past century.
But you give the liberals an inch and they’ll take a mile. They’re only “liberals” as long as they’re making money of others, as soon as something goes wrong they’re first in line asking for government handouts. That’s why the liberals will always prefer fascist over left wing idealists, because they’re opportunists more than anything else. They’ll backstab you and vote in fascists if they think they can make more money with them. That’s exactly what’s happening in the US.
We need new politics where hating on the LGBTQ+, immigrants, women, and putting money over the lives of few isn’t considered a political leaning.

Fuck pirate software, he derailed the conversation of stopkillinggames with his disingenuous straw man arguments.
He’s one of the most pretentious fucks I’ve seen.

We also didn’t have modern medicine for 99.9% of human existence. Want to return to that?
- Comment on The best thing *you* can do for the fediverse is *just be kind* 3 weeks ago:
Look what you made me do!
I wouldn’t have considered genocide, if you were so idealistic!!
If you had only partnered up with the people who only car about money, we could have returned to the status quo.
Mate, the goal is to be idealistic. No one is perfect, but we want to strive for what’s the best and hope we reach there some day.

Also if you are into anime, you should check out psychopass which covers a similar theme.
