So, I briefly tried out Matrix some four years ago and left because it was utter trash and from waht I gather from your comment it is still pretty much trash now. But despite there not being ansingle usable cluent, people still try to convince everyone that Matrix, by some obscrure metric, is superior to all other chat programs.
Sorry to say, but a chat protocol on its own is a tech demo at best and as long as there isn’t a single feature complete and usable client, it’s an alternative for no one except hardcore tech enthusiasts.
When I last used Matrix/Elements I had to deal with “lost keys” issues multiple times in just two months. This issue is a dealbreaker if it happens just once in a year and apparently, it’s still a semi regular problem for some of my friends.
Just accept it, Matrix will never be a replacement for Discord, WhatsApp, Telegram or even just Microsoft Teams.
- Comment on [Digital Foundry] Oblivion Remastered PC: Impressive Remastering, Dire Performance Problems 2 hours ago:
Fighting games would run well on a fing smart fridge. They’re by far the least performance hungry game genre. There is no live loading of assets, the Background scenery is 100% static and there are usually just two characters on the screen on any given moment. It would take actual effort to fck up the performance of something so simple

- Comment on What is the best Sea based game out there in your opinion? 1 week ago:
Raft only truly shines when you play it with friends. Otherwise it gets old real fast. But with a crew of 3-4 chaotic people on board it’s a ton of fun!

Either Subnautica or AC Black Flag. Odyssey’s water gameplay sucks balls compared to Black Flag.
Alternatively, Raft is quite nice

I mean, I bought the starter ship for SC which was 40€ I believe and I still play occaisonally. I’d say I definitely got my money’s worth out of that game.

Yeah, but that’s the thing. Other accounts don’t bring millions of revenue.

So, yeah. It’s pretty much that.
- Comment on 6* months away now. If you're on 10, do you plan to upgrade? Make the jump to Linux? 3 weeks ago:
Maybe check out Bottles [1]. It’s similar to Proton/Wine, but for regular Software and it runs pretty damn well.

I’ll wait for teal reviews to come in. IGN is a lying piece of garbage and I don’t trust their biased and probably bought opinion.
- Comment on What are some old games that are hard to revisit, because a more modern and superior version exists? 4 weeks ago:
Dark Souls 1. Especially on PC it’s almost unplayable due to bad porting and DS3 and Elden Ring have refined the formula so much, it’s insane. The remaster is ok though, so I don’t know if that counts.
- Comment on Baldur's Gate 3 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 show that the future of RPGs is in games way more ambitious, weird and unexpected than anything Bethesda and Bioware have to offer 1 month ago:
Not everyone is literate in contract law, so most people won’t notice these kinds of hidden clauses that allow this. In this case it was a combination of signing over the IP to the developing company because that’s pretty standard procedure. Together with the investors managing to get a majority share of the company and forcing the original devs out by vote.
Just one of the reasons why smart people just license out their IPs. This way no one can take it from you. But again, you have to know quite a bit about contract law to know how this works.

Yes, yes it is! On what world would stealing someone’s intellectual work and booting them out of their own company for the sole purpose to keep all of the money for yourself not be evil? Funnily enough, making people sign unfair contracts is literally the most devilish thing ever. It’s the one thing demons and devils do in pretty much every interpretation they appear in. This is why we need more people like Luigi!

“Evil is Evil. Lesser, greater, middling… Makes no difference. The degree is arbitary. The definition’s blurred. If I’m to choose between one evil and another… I’d rather not choose at all!”
Greedy CEOs, MAGA supporters, Islamists, Nazis, Tankies, all the same. If all of those people stopped existing tomorrow, then the world would undoubtably be a better place. I’m ready to die on that hill!

Ori and the Blind Forest The story, the gameplay, the progression, the level design. Everything just fits together perfectly and then there’s the soundtrack. God, I love that game!
