- Comment on Tea app leak worsens with second database exposing user chats 2 weeks ago:
that’s my theory. how can you be so grossly negligent to expose all your data with no ACLs. especially when collecting personal identification

the megastars aren’t the ones we care about making money, they’re fine. it’s the 99% of the rest of the artists that either get screwed by the labels or are independent and rely on fan support

- Comment on The Age-Checked Internet Has Arrived 2 weeks ago:
these laws are all about control and tracking what you do online. they make the internet MORE dangerous, because (as with everything the government restricts or bans) there will be a black market, which is always more dangerous and exposes people to more things than they were looking for in the first place. you think dark web providers are gonna make you upload your id to stay compliant? no, they’re gonna continue anonymously operating through TOR and serve up some very questionably sourced content to those teens that are searching “boobs” and can no longer access pornhub

- Comment on Exclusive: Google Helped Israel Spread War Propaganda to 45 Million Europeans 4 weeks ago:
without the technology involved though (from a Big Tech company), the reach of the propaganda would be much lower.
Why would propaganda to convince people that a genocide is acceptable be considered just politics? Shit like this falls into many buckets because it’s important to spread awareness across as many communities as possible. Who knows, if hundreds of millions more people knew what the nazis were doing in the 30s, maybe it would’ve been stopped earlier
- Comment on YSK about StopICE.net to send and receive alerts about ICE raids in your area 5 weeks ago:
i don’t trust IceBlock. they don’t allow you to use the app at all without sharing your live location. it’s true iOS has better security and privacy, but whatever information any app collects from its users (like location data) will be sent to their own servers and cannot be confirmed by apple what they do with that data you willfully provided them
