i would consider that to be part of find an employer who cares less about the corpo garbage, but yes, employers who actually care about their employees do exist.
- Comment on How dare you 1 week ago:
Hiring managers are well aware people’s primary motivation for work is pay and that the question is bullshit, but are directed by their superiors to find applicants who are more enthusiastic to work for them, as they’re likely to work harder and for less. Look at the video games industry as a prime example. Many many studios and publishers hire developers and pay them beans because people are lined up around the block to work their “dream job” in the games industry. Those same developers could likely get a job in some other industry making software for something boring, but for far greater pay, benefits, work/life balance, etc.
I am in agreement that not being able to be more upfront with employment motivations is troublesome, but our choices are either play the game, find an employer who cares less about the corpo garbage, or self-employ.
- Comment on How dare you 1 week ago:
For sure. They’re trying to find people who will work harder for less.

It’s a given that you’re interviewing because you need money. They want to know why else you want the job.

And what do you know… it just went on sale. Thanks for the info, I just picked it up.
- Comment on What are your favorite Tactical RPGs? 1 week ago:
My favorite is the original Final Fantasy Tactics, hands down. I also liked XCOM 1, Advance Wars, Ogre Battle 64, Unicorn Overlord, Fire Emblem 3 Houses, and probably a few others I can’t think of right now.

I’ve had my eye on Tactics Ogre Reborn for a while now, but haven’t bought yet since it seemingly won’t go below 50% off, and the reviews say some of the later missions are pretty stacked against you, forcing you to play a certain way. Thoughts on this?

So, the article is about gacha MMOs, but then doesn’t list any? Of the games it references, Honkai Star Rail isn’t a MMO, and World of Warcraft isn’t a gacha game.

Looks good, but I’m not looking to pick up a new game right now. I wishlisted it, though.

I would be 100% ok with it being on the same level as the first, just with a different story, characters, etc. Hell, they could reuse 90% of the city as well.

- Comment on Game design question : how to make a "trapped" player character? 1 month ago:
She could communicate with the knight like this.
In all seriousness, maybe it could be part stealth game, where she breaks out of her confines and sneaks around the dragon’s lair to do various things, only to make it back in time to avoid being found out.
A bit more whimsical, but maybe she’s a Disney princess, and can communicate with birds and such to relay vague messages to her would-be rescuer. She could use the animals to distract or sabotage the dragon’s minions and make the knight’s journey easier.
She could have magical abilities, which you could then take in all sorts of directions.

I’d like to see more adult anime mainly because I’m sick of dumbass teenage protags. Sure, seinen protags can be dumbasses too, but they’re typically a little more mature on average.

I helped my mom bring the groceries in and put them away under the guise of being a good boy, but in reality, I was searching through them to see what kinds of snacks were brought home.

Some people aren’t comfortable with direct sexual comments/advances like that, especially if they aren’t used to being hit on.

My previous car had a manual transmission and I loved driving it. It didn’t have a uh… auxiliary gearshift like Misato’s, though.
- Comment on Yeah agree 5 months ago:
Sure you can. I can’t think of any intersections that have a turn immediately afterward, or at least not enough of a straightaway to shift into 3rd before you put your hand on the wheel. That said, I avoid eating while driving, regardless of the transmission.
