Back when I was in school they told me I was supposed to enjoy my youth and that it would be about the best time of my life. What they actually did was to demotivate me regarding my future. School was hell. Life is much better nowadays.

8-hour work days are a made-up concept. They’re not set into stone.
Also, use your work time wisely. Like… on the toilet, for example.

4-6 hours of active work time isn’t enough.

“your” ebooks. – You never owned them in the first place. And if buying isn’t owning, questionably acquired ebooks aren’t stolen.

I obviously don’t consider fossil fuels as an option. And I do doubt that it’s cheaper to build a nuclear plant compared do building a coal or gas fired one.
- Comment on ‘If 1.5m Germans have them there must be something in it’: how balcony solar is taking off 3 months ago:
nb4 someone laughs at us Germans for pulling out of nuclear power: No, nuclear is not cheap. It’s literally the most expensive way to generate electricity. Solar is cheap and better for the environment.
- Comment on FreeCAD Gridfinity Drawers - More Configurable Tomfoolery 4 months ago:
When getting into 3D printing I tried to get Fusion 360 to run on Linux but I had some issues as it wouldn’t accept my email address for some reason, so it refused to do anything useful at all.
So I went with FreeCAD (unwillingly at first) and, even though I now probably lack the experience to judge Fusion, I don’t regret it anymore, especially not with the new version which is much more comfortable to use.
There is a learning curve to it, and perhaps Fusion is more streamlined, but using FreeCAD really is worth it for me.

Honestly, it was better than what the future looks like it’s going to be like. (Although we never know what’s going to happen, so hope might be an option still.)
