They are working on it: codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo/issues/59

You can try IceShrimp, their Antenna systems seems to be what you are looking for: iceshrimp.dev/iceshrimp/iceshrimp

What happens when someone posts to a local version of a community whose home instance no longer exists? I assume local users can see the post, but it doesn’t federate to any other instances?
Correct
Agree with your other point too

Good luck!
- Comment on I like this text. In which Lemmy community can I best share it ? Thanks. 6 months ago:
Nice community
- Comment on [deleted] 6 months ago:
I found my latest job there. Some companies tend to mostly post in LinkedIn rather than other job boards. I guess it’s probably country dependent

Forgejo?
- Comment on [deleted] 6 months ago:
Just being able to see interesting job posts in my field and area
But if you would like to contribute to Fediverse project, I would say that the current link aggregator options would have more impact:
- if you know Rust: github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy
- if you know Java: github.com/sublinks
- if you know PHP: github.com/MbinOrg/mbin/
- if you know Python: codeberg.org/rimu/pyfedi/

Does anybody know how often the fedipact.veganism.social/?v=2 is updated? Some instances defederated a few weeks ago but still appear as federated
- Comment on [deleted] 6 months ago:
LinkedIn.
It’s one of the last social media I have. Benefits outweigh cons, but I still would like to get rid of it
- Comment on Lemmy instances die twice 6 months ago:
And that’s why it is recommended to use instances where they have a Matrix or a Mastodon channel so that you can communicate outside of Lemmy
- Comment on Lemmy instances die twice 6 months ago:
I still see some people posting to their local versions of the Lemmy.film communities
(!movies@lemm.ee for movie and TV shows discussions BTW)

Iceshrimp is the way

I mod enough communities to be honest, and people tend to have comments around how the content is interesting. Not the most polarizing community.
We can try like this for a bit, and if needed, I’ll step in, but I would rather not

bonfirenetworks.org approach is quite unique, this might be what you are looking for

(the last one went down when the person running it disappeared).
Yes, that’s still sad to this day
- Comment on [deleted] 6 months ago:
Indeed, but I don’t expect much accuracy from people on a conservative community
- Comment on Sleep paralysis 6 months ago:
I see.
I follow more or less the same logic, but still try to keep communities on other generalist instances (lemm.ee, sh.itjust.works), as the centralization of Lemmy on LW is detrimental from a performance perspective: lemmy.world/post/13967373

Hello,
Good luck with your community.
Out of curiosity, why did you choose lemmy.world to host it? I know you are pretty active on communities on feddit.uk and other instances, so I was a bit surprised.
