I’ve been wanting to create this but I don’t have enough experience making federated anything. Which parts of LinkedIn would you want replicated the most?

LinkedIn.
It’s one of the last social media I have. Benefits outweigh cons, but I still would like to get rid of it

Just being able to see interesting job posts in my field and area
But if you would like to contribute to Fediverse project, I would say that the current link aggregator options would have more impact:
- if you know Rust: github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy
- if you know Java: github.com/sublinks
- if you know PHP: github.com/MbinOrg/mbin/
- if you know Python: codeberg.org/rimu/pyfedi/

So is kbin unofficially dead now?
Blaze@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 months ago
Yes, that’s why I always link Mbin nowadays

What are the benefits of Linkedin? Ive never seen anyone mention it positively

I found my latest job there. Some companies tend to mostly post in LinkedIn rather than other job boards. I guess it’s probably country dependent

I do B2B hardware and software projects. I hate sales and advertising but I will post something I’m working on about once a week on my personal LinkedIn. It’s amazing how many customers reference that stuff when I have my first meeting.

It can be like Facebook if you don’t know how to use it. It can suck.
But I found all my jobs thanks to this website so I can’t complain.

I’ve never received a job directly from it, but I’ve had prospective employers search my profile.
