nah in this case it’s just sausage on its own - i know, boring 😄 people only refer to it as hotdog only if it’s in a bun
- Comment on You have 8 seconds. 3 weeks ago:
In German, that would be a just a sausage

it’s more about what kind of news pop up in the feed too frequently. i don’t give a shit about US elections or Musk, and I don’t want to be permanently confronted with war either. i don’t see many news about nazis on lemmy, but i wouldn’t mind reading about them being arrested, extradited or trampled by elephants

not much tbh, but it’s better for my blood pressure anyway 😅

sync app for lemmy has all sorts of filters in the settings
- Comment on How to improve your Lemmy experience 3 weeks ago:
i think Sync’s filters only work on post titles - but thanks i guess?

i’d be more worried about about smudgy stuff. they get dusty, then it rains and the panel is covered in a film of dirt. bird shit on solar panels is already plaguing home users
- Comment on Solar panels between railway tracks? 4 weeks ago:
you have to keep the panels clean in order to work. this is not a great position to do so

- Comment on [Tom Warren] The PS5 Pro still hasn’t sold out in the US or UK. Looks like the $700 price point will mean this console will be readily available this holiday 1 month ago:
i’d differentiate it by the kind of it’s ui. linux will still feel like a desktop operating system, made for mouse and keyboard, whereas the console has a controller friendly interface. probably not much of an issue if you boot into steam directly through.
genuinely curious, is there any linux DE that is optimised for being connected to a tv and controlled by remote/gamepad from the couch?

i’d argue that a console running linux would be a PC, even if it’s plugged into your living room tv
- Comment on Nintendo's lawsuit against Palworld isn't just bad for the industry, it's bad for Nintendo 1 month ago:
If this became a copyright case in Japan and palworld won it could change the law on copyright fair use
not every country has case law. most of Europe is eg using “code law”, which means a precedent doesn’t change the law, but only applies to the one specific case with all its specific context and circumstances taken into account
