Better invade a couple countries in the middle east, just to be on the safe side.

Uhm, actually, it’s a copypasta that starts exactly the way they posted it.

Thank you daddy Microsoft for still letting me click “no” on your invasive popup ad with a dark pattern to make me change my system settings.

Because most sites have Google trackers installed.

Search engine optimizers.
If you spend more time on a site, it looks higher value, so they do everything to increase the time you need to find the info you came for. - Comment on launch him anyway 8 months ago:
If that’s the child’s name, you have no one to blame but yourself, and are probably underqualified for handling a butter knife.

The minimum would be something like punting your kid to the orbit of Venus for a gravity assist that takes it to one of the outer planets where another gravity assist can push it to the edge of the solar system.
Out there, the angular momentum of the orbiting child will be very low and can be canceled out by a small thrust.
The child will then fall back into the sun. But this requires remote controlled thrusters strapped to the child. And a life support system if you want your child to actually die by burning in the sun. And then, the child will be well into their teens by the time they reach it. - Comment on The New Audi A3 Is Amess With In-Car Subscriptions 8 months ago:
If you read more than the headline, you’d know that you can simply purchase those options instead of subscribing, if you want.
Which makes the entire article pointless. But you’d need to read more than the headline to see that, which is too much to ask. - Comment on The New Audi A3 Is Amess With In-Car Subscriptions 8 months ago:
That’s not what that word…you know what, fuck it. I give up. Enshittification now just means “becoming worse” and I won’t be able to stop that.

“Or you can just purchase any of those features permanently”
This fact, hidden somewhere in the middle, makes the entire article pointless.

Back then you didn’t find those sites through search engines. You found them through word of mouth.
Today, the people around you just don’t share sites like this anymore. - Comment on 1 already gone 8 months ago:

The other one stands for Israel. - Comment on 1 already gone 8 months ago:

In Germany you can officially start a phd program with a bachelor’s, and I assume it’s the same all over Europe, since the degrees are supposed to be compatible.
No one does it without a master’s, and no prof will accept you into a phd program without one, but theoretically on paper it’s not needed. - Comment on Expertise 8 months ago:

- Comment on What are some good games with *zero* replayability? 8 months ago:
I only play games you can’t really finish.
My favorites are Crusader Kings 3, Kerbal Space Program, Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress and Euro Truck Simulator 2.
I struggle to define what “playing it once” would even mean in those games. - Comment on What happens when two people with hyphenated last names get married? Do they hyphenate all four names and in what order? 8 months ago:
as always – it depends on the jurisdiction.
But in most cases, they will use a new hyphenated last name that consists of both partners’ first last name, with the man’s first last name first. - Comment on Lemmy Active Users looking good 8 months ago:
Every once in a while I check up on what reddit looks like now.
I find the same or similar topics posted, with 600 comments instead of 30, and 570 of those 600 are just whatever’s the first thing that pops into everyone’s mind after reading the post title.
I like it better here. - Comment on Lemmy Active Users looking good 8 months ago:
