I have a bunch of good developers, and my best guys have been around for years. I have newer people that have been on the project that have been around for the same amount of time as the problem people who get their work done and learn and get better consistently.

I’m really laid back and have given them a long time to learn our code base and how to contribute, but when I have to pull multiple all nighters and the end of a long release cycle to fix or finish what they worked on it’s not worth it. I basically can only code at night because I spend my day in meetings or helping people with their stuff.
We work remote so either they are really dumb and won’t ever get it or they slack off all the time and wait till the last min to slap shit together and it isn’t right.

They are literally useless. even when something is explained to them they still mess it up, or need the same thing explained again the next time. Most of the commits they have was someone wasting their time to explain change by change how to do it. It would have been worth the time investment if they learned and were able to do things on their own at this point but they aren’t and freeing up the people who have to consistently spend their time helping them will be a net positive in productivity.

Not real people and their skin color has nothing to do with the story. Biopics about black people generally have to do with their struggles as a black person so having a white person play them is wrong and dilutes the value of that person’s story because a white person doesn’t have the same adversities.

I mean if I laid off %25 of my dev team we would see a boat in productivity. They leech time from one of my senior devs and don’t get any better. Def getting rid of 2/4 useless guys and giving 1 of them as much of an opportunity I’ve given any body and one is going to be next to go of he doesn’t shape up.

I was told to change gender to sex on the apps I develop. I’m pushing to have it removed all together because it’s a field that has no relevance and the order is fucking dumb. My niece is trans saying they don’t exist doesn’t make them not exist.

Withdrawal is real for about 3 days, but a mild anti anxiety med for those 3 days makes it way easier. While I would enjoy smoking again there is no need to do it. Nicotine on the other hand is insidious.

Time to use this one example as why gay people shouldn’t be allowed adopt and ignore the countless cases of child rape by good Christian couples.

I haven’t used the in IDE stuff, but the best use case I’ve had was asking bing chat for help with xml mappings for nhibernate with a wonky table structure when I had to work with some legacy code. The nhibernate documentation is terrible.

Def not cast iron, cast iron is used for waste pipes and it’s brittle you could never get threads on cast iron. It’s actually steel even if we call it black iron. A lot of newer houses will run solid pipe from the main to a central location and build a manifold with corrugated steal (flexible pipes) run to the terminal points.
