Haven’t had to use this on Lemmy yet, until just now:

Who?

If a game isn’t fully playable without an SSD, then I consider it a requirement.
Ever try playing Perfect Dark without an Expansion Pak back in the day? It’ll technically work, but you’ll get locked out of 90% of the game, including the campaign. Same thing with SSDs today.

Forza Horizon 4 actually does include an SSD in its requirements. Thank you for reminding me about that.

True Gs use Photoshop to make memes.
- Comment on KDE Plasma Bigscreen (Android TV alternative) is back from dead 11 hours ago:
Does it have Stremio and an equivalent to YouTube ReVanced/SmartTubeNext? If so, I’m sold. I’m tired of the slow clunky interface on my Android-based TV. Paid nearly $2K for this fucker and they couldn’t even be bothered to give it a cut with more than 2 cores, nor more than 8GB of storage space. Like a cheap Chinese Android phone from 2014.

Same. Can’t find shit to watch. Can’t figure out how to add any instances, either. The “add an instance” button appears to be missing in the app or I’m just retarded and doing it wrong.

Too much work to simply swap out the assets and change the character’s name with a patch?

There’s a PC port of RDR? Since when? I’ve been emulating the 360 version the whole time!
- Comment on Say Hello to the World's Largest Hard Drive, a Massive 36TB Seagate 18 hours ago:
Okay well try telling that to my computer when the games wouldn’t run without constantly freezing to load assets every few seconds.

I can personally guarantee that it is a hard requirement for Spider-Man and Ratchet
- Comment on Say Hello to the World's Largest Hard Drive, a Massive 36TB Seagate 1 day ago:
A lot of modern AAA games require an SSD, actually.
On top of my head: Cyberpunk, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Dead Space remake, Starfield, Baulder’s Gate 3, Palworld, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- Comment on Say Hello to the World's Largest Hard Drive, a Massive 36TB Seagate 1 day ago:
More like zero, cause modern AAA games require an NVME (or st least an SSD) and this is a good old fashioned 7200 RPM drive.

I’ve never met a skinny weed smoker unless they were also on stimulants (prescribed or otherwise). You are a unique case, my friend.

Hit the weed vape more often and you’ll get hungry, I fucking guarantee it. Especially if you make it a daily habit.

That’s fine; I lost interest in the series after Underground. NFS was ruined for me anyway when I learned what Rubberband AI was. (Which was also around the same time I started driving real cars, and thus began realizing just how terrible the physics are in all but the most hardcore sim racers.)

AOL used a combination of local and 1-800 numbers. The only additional fee you had to pay was the AOL subscription.

Can concur. My baby boomer dad was an AOL subscriber up until his death in 2021. He ditched dialup in 2002 but just never stopped paying for AOL.

You were lucky. I never had to shut down my WinMe PC, because it would blue screen and shut itself down near the end of the day, every day. I’m glad it introduced System Restore because I had to use it often due to constant data loss.
- Comment on Stardew Valley dethrones Valve classic as Steam’s top-rated game 5 days ago:
Can’t agree with this. I got dozens of hours out of Portal 2, simply from replaying it so many times (which is an amazing feat in of itself because I never finish games).
Meanwhile I was bored of Stardew Valley after two hours of wandering around and not being able to find anything to do. From what I’ve gathered, the game expects you to figure out how play it on your own. I’m in my late 30s and I have bills to pay. I don’t have the time nor the patience for a game like that anymore.
