I think it’s just VPN usage cause I block their attempts to send my data to third parties like Meta, Google, and Mixpanel—yet I can browse Imgur just fine in both Firefox and in the app.

I use it daily and never have an issue. I wish there was a better site I could use cause it amazes me how often the app attempts to send my personal data to Meta. But unfortunately Lemmy alone isn’t enough to satisfy my need for fresh content ever since I left reddit during the API bullshit.

Okay but is the game fun yet? I hate all the procedurally generated bullshit. If you’ve seen one planet in this game, you’ve seen them all. NMS is somehow even more boring than Starfield. At least that game gives you something to do. A boring story is better than no story.

I just ignore it and wait for the employee to say something. That way I’m not just barking an order at them before they’re ready to accept it, like Taco Bell corporate wants. That’s the real reason for that stupid pre-recorded prompt, to trick people into thinking that it’s a real person, so that they respond with “No thank you. Can I get uhh…”, instead of simply waiting for the employee to be ready.

“Going to be”? I feel like this generation already failed at the starting line. I can’t name a single PS5 game I’d want to play that doesn’t already look and run better on my PC. The Switch 2 is running on several generations-old hardware so it’s already a non-starter. And Microsoft screwed up their naming convention so badly that I don’t even know what the latest Xbox is called. I don’t know.
Hell, this console generation is somehow already five years old, and I still don’t know anyone who actually owns one of these systems. Everyone I know is still using their PS4s, XBones, Switches, and gaming laptops with 10, 20, and 30 series Nvidia GPUs. Hell, I haven’t seen any hype for modern console gaming since the XBOX 360/PS3 era. No one cares about owning the latest and greatest gaming system anymore. Everyone’s happy with what we have.

When 3D games first came out, I stopped playing 2D games altogether. Needless to say, I don’t miss the blockiness of PS1 games.
I’m an absolute graphics slut but IDGAF. I love modern tech like path tracing so much that I saved up and bought a 4090 at launch. No regrets.

Dude it’s less than a minute. My Ryzen 7000 machine with a 7300MB/s sequential read speed takes longer than that to boot.
