I doubt ICE is even aware of Lemmy’s existence. They’re more likely swarming the major normie platforms like Instagram and Twitter.
Either way, they can swallow my dick & balls and lick my whole asshole clean.

Yes but gaming TVs are all HDMI-only, so this is a major issue for a gaming PC that is being designed for the living room.

- Comment on Crucial is shutting down — because Micron wants to sell its RAM and SSDs to AI companies instead 1 week ago:
That’s a brilliant idea, but why does your PC have coiling issues? I literally never worry about overheating because I sized my radiators and heatsinks adequately for my equipment, fans set in a positive pressure configuration to minimize dust accumulation. All I gotta do is clean the filters once every few months, and everything stays cool in clean.
If your overheating issues are a result of budgeting issues, I feel for you. Otherwise it wouldn’t be a bad idea to invest in better cooling so that you never have to worry about temps.

Anytime I hear this argument from someone, I tell them to go look up the term, “survivorship bias”.
- Comment on Bread mold 1 week ago:
You can do this with harder foods that aren’t filled with moisture and air like bread is. Please don’t eat around moldy bread ever.

I used to hate on RGB in PCs, until I realized that they can do more than just rainbow vomit; with enough LEDs you can actually get a visible image… If you squint…
One of my favorite things to do with RGB is use the RAM sticks as VU meters and the CPU radiator fans as visualizers when playing music; gives off oldschool HiFi vibes and reminds me of my Winamp days.
- Comment on ChatGPT is down worldwide, conversations disappeared for users 1 week ago:
Yeah seriously it’s so pathetic. Either embrace tech, or get left behind. The vast majority of Lemmy users might not like it but personally I refuse to get left behind.
LLMs can be a great tool if you’re aware of their limitations. Stick to the more advanced models (avoid the “fast” ones that don’t actually do any googling), check the sources it provides, be skeptical of everything it says, and you’ll be fine. An LLM helped me with a relationship issue I was having, and even diagnosed an issue I didn’t even know my car had when I asked it an unrelated question about fuel trims, saving me hundreds by recognizing a problem I was unaware of before it killed my catalytic converter.
Given that I would probably be single by now, and would have never discovered the issue without an LLM going, “hey by the way…”, I am extremely grateful to OpenAI for what they’ve done for me and the future of humanity. Why would I hate on a technology that saved me nearly $1000?
What’s most exciting to me is that the tech is still in its infancy, and it’s already this good. The AI bubble will eventually burst, and the tech will eventually get good enough to shut up all the naysayers. AI just needs to get past its “growing pains” stage.
Stay strong; ignore the haters, and we’ll weather this storm. Eventually Lemmy will find something new to hate.

Shit like this is why building websites is no longer fun for me like it was back in the 90s and 2000s. There’s way too much security shit to worry about now.
- Comment on Samsung reveals first tri-fold phone 1 week ago:
Can’t speak for the TriFold, but I easily get a full day out of my Fold 7, even with Battery Protection set to 85%. I usually end my day with a 40% charge, which is considerably better than my last phone (Fold 4). Easily over 1.5x more battery life.
That said, I miss the pre-Android/iOS days; back then I was charging my phone maybe once a week.
- Comment on Samsung reveals first tri-fold phone 1 week ago:
Yeah, even as a foldable enthusiast, I see no reason for this to exist. A second hinge is just another failure point.
Wake me up when the first cylindrical, rollable phone comes out. Until then, I’m happy with my Fold 6.
- Comment on Do you cheat in video games? 1 week ago:
I used to back in the late 90s-early 2000s in StarCraft: BroodWar when I was a kid. Mainly because I was absolute trash and was trying to compete.
My favorite hacks were map hacks (removes fog of war) and stack hacks (construct buildings on top of each other to fit more in your base). I also used a no-CD crack and a disconnect hack so that I would never have a loss on my record.
Even with these hacks I was still trash at StarCraft, and always will be. Gave up on RTS games a long time ago. Hacks can’t save you from poor resource management and low APM.
Haven’t hacked in a game since. I heard that hacks cost money these days. I couldn’t possibly imagine paying real money to cheat. The closest I get to cheating in games today is playing mobile shooters in an Android emulator on PC. That way I can take advantage of mouse & keyboard + playing on a larger 4K HFR screen for smoother framerates and better visibility over a phone screen. But that’s allowed (Tencent even has an official emulator for this very thing), and many mobile shooters will detect M&KB input and try to only match you with other players using the same input method, so I’m not sure if you can really call that cheating.
It does give me an advantage, though.
- Comment on Why do some people have so many tabs open on their browser? 1 week ago:
I answered a similar question from another user. Here is my response:
The criteria is whatever I feel like at the moment if/when I ultimately decide to bookmark. There is no hard set rule, because again, I have ADHD.

- Comment on Why do some people have so many tabs open on their browser? 1 week ago:
For me it’s because I have ADHD and thrive among organized clutter.
I may have 100 tabs open, but they’re all categorized: One tab group for YouTube, one for porn, one for my website, and one for everything else. I keep stuff in there that’s good enough to hang onto for a while, but not good enough to bookmark.

- Comment on Lawmakers Want to Ban VPNs—And They Have No Idea What They're Doing 2 weeks ago:
How the fuck do they plan on monitoring VPN traffic? Isn’t the whole point of a good privacy-oriented VPN is that they don’t log traffic?

Shit like this is why I don’t purchase until I can afford the entire build. Time goes by faster than you think. It would sick to get stuck with a PC that’s already obsolete before you get the funds together to finish it.
If I were you, I’d return everything while you still can, then set aside the money until you can afford tje complete build. Luckily for you you just started, so the return window for everything will still be open for everything.
Consider this a lesson learned and good luck with your eventual build!

Agreed. No matter how many drinks I’ve had, the second I take a few tokes, my desire to continue drinking immediately stops.
