- Comment on YSK tricks for one of the cheapest meals: beans and rice 1 day ago:Mostly I just dint like the taste, but I guess I don’t like the texture of beans and many potato preparations either, now that I think about it.
- Comment on YSK tricks for one of the cheapest meals: beans and rice 1 day ago:Wish I could but I can’t stand neither beans nor rice. Gotta have meat and green veggies in my meal. That means that I only like chili without beans. At Asian restaurants I always ask for no rice and substitute noodles. The only beans I can tolerate are refried. So at Mexican restaurants I ask for no rice and double beans. While we’re at it, I don’t like potatoes, either. I’ll eat them, but I won’t go out my way to order them, unless the alternative side dish selection is no better.
- Comment on Who was your first childhood videogame crush? 2 days ago:Golden Axe was how I learned at the age of six that I was attracted to women. Used to squint at the CRT a lot to get a better view of that low res ass in that red and silver thong.
- Comment on Microsoft's decision to axe Windows 10 is driving Apple PC sales growth — users buy Macs instead of AI PCs despite Microsoft’s push for Copilot+ PCs 2 days ago:Don’t know if it’s still there cause I haven’t used a Mac since 2007, but if you go to the Control Panel and then the keyboard is settings, there should be an setting to rearrange the function of the Control, Option, and Command keys so that they behave just like Control, Super, and Alt do in Linux and Windows.
- Comment on Study Claims 4K/8K TVs Aren't Much Better Than HD To Your Eyes 2 days ago:This is true. That said, if can’t tell the difference between 1080p and 4K from the pixels alone, then either your TV is too small, or you’re sitting too far away. In which case there’s no point in going with 4K. At the right seating distance, there is a benefit to be had even by going with an 8K TV. However, very few people sit slose enough to benefit from going any higher than 4K:

We don’t trust in the judicial system, we shoot guns.
We rely on the streets though we do battle in the hood.
I was born in the G Code, embedded in my blood.
- Comment on Does it get windy in New York City? 5 days ago:Well I too visited in the summer, and hugely regretted not bringing a sweater, so I don’t know what to tell you.
- Comment on ADVICE: Running out of storage 5 days ago:Switch to Stremio (with Torrentio) and never worry about running out of storage space again. Everything is streamed directly to your TV, no downloading necessary. Browse like it’s Netflix and just pick something then watch it. Plus there’s support for home theater enthusiasts with features like HDR, Dolby Atmos, 4K, etc.
- Comment on Did it really used to be common for guys to go to a bar every night like in Cheers or The Simpsons? 5 days ago:$50 is a lot to spend on booze. I can just stay and home and black out on $5 with a beer and three 100 proof shooters.
- Comment on Did it really used to be common for guys to go to a bar every night like in Cheers or The Simpsons? 6 days ago:Or maybe I’m just introverted.
- Comment on Did it really used to be common for guys to go to a bar every night like in Cheers or The Simpsons? 6 days ago:How can anyone afford to go to bars anymore? Drinking at home is much cheaper.
- Comment on Jurassic Park 6 days ago:They did in Jurassic World, but I don’t remember any mention of the dinosaurs being inaccurate in JP.
- Comment on Does it get windy in New York City? 6 days ago:Then why bother commenting?
- Comment on Does it get windy in New York City? 6 days ago:Not only is it windy, it’s cold as fuck when you’re standing in the shadow of a building, even in the summer. And there a lot of buildings blocking the sun in NYC.
- Comment on The Sodium-Ion Battery Revolution Has Started 6 days ago:Fewer things irritate me more than someone who just hops straight into the comments without actually reading the article first.
- Comment on Why are people using the "þ" character? 6 days ago:Yeah sorry about that; you’re probably talking about my comment from the other day lol. Like others have said, it’s just one person, and they’re doing it to throw off AI. Problem is that one sample point isn’t going to be enough. You’d have to get millions on board. The only that one person is doing is annoying everyone else.
- Comment on Why Are Some Democrats Backing MAGA's Anti-LGBTQ+ Censorship? 1 week ago:IDK why but my state’s governor also backed internet censorship, and now I need a VPN just to look at porn.

- Comment on Tragic Titan submersible’s $62 SanDisk memory card found undamaged at wreckage site 1 week ago:Could someone please post the pics? The website claims that I could click “see more” to view them, but nothing happens when I do that.
- Comment on I went to an anti-tech rally, where Gen Z dressed as gnomes and smashed iPhones. Here's what I learned. | Business Insider 1 week ago:Well I consider talking to strangers in public a waste of time, so what now?
- Comment on Does anyone else notice an up tick in hostility on Lemmy lately? 2 weeks ago:Jarcasm?
- Comment on oh no! reddit gives up on totally not NFTs! 2 weeks ago:Reddit already got on my bad side when they got rid of their Public Access TV thing; removing 3rd party apps was the last straw. Blows my mind that more people didn’t leave over that. I was expecting a mass exodus, a la Digg.
- Comment on Massive Pokemon leak purportedly covers next-gen games, scrapped ideas, and more 2 weeks ago:I rather be a Boomer than be foolish enough to pay $60 every year for the same exact game. Pokémon has changed so little that I could pick up a modern title 20 years after playing my last one and still know exactly how the game mechanics work with no tutorial.
- Comment on Massive Pokemon leak purportedly covers next-gen games, scrapped ideas, and more 2 weeks ago:Nintendo deserves every bad thing that happens to them. They’re never getting a single penny from me ever again.
- Comment on Any advice for me a guy turning 18 yo old?? 2 weeks ago:If you aren’t already, start going to the gym now, or you will regret not doing so by your late 30s. I stopped going at age 30; it’s only been seven years since but I can already feel my body falling apart. Everything hurts all the time and it doesn’t stop hurting.
- Comment on What's your greatest "gaming high" you've been chasing ever since? Please take care not to spoil anything, if you are going to be story-specific. 2 weeks ago:Damn, I need to get around to finishing this one. Took a break after the second chapter and forgot to pick it back up.
- Comment on [deleted] 3 weeks ago:This, but instead of pogs, it’s five dollar bills.
- Comment on YSK: Little Free Library is a group that promotes local access to books on a more micro level, to build a stronger community of readers across the world 3 weeks ago:Meanwhile I’ve never seen one not abused! People love to take the books, but not return them. I know this because I’ve made multiple trips to restock my local little library and every single time I went, nearly every book was gone, every time. I never saw any of the books I added ever again.
- Comment on YSK: Little Free Library is a group that promotes local access to books on a more micro level, to build a stronger community of readers across the world 3 weeks ago:So it’s an organization/brand? I thought it was just something that some homeowners like to do, not an official thing.
- Comment on Portal and Portal 2 are 80% off 3 weeks ago:Just a heads up: it’s a mod but is listed as a separate game on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/…/Portal_with_RTX/ It came out in 2022, however, so IDK why OP is saying “recently”.
