  So how would they take PixelFed, Mastodon, Lemmy & Kbin / Mbin? They can only try add a feature and if the rest of the Fediverse doesn't like it, they won't add it to there own platforms,

  Yeah and I'm not going to stop using my instance I love it to much, Maybe I will boot up my own personal one if anything. Just glad more people will hopefully understand and can use the Fediverse

  Less of a public figure than Zuck I was meant to say. I really do hope they have a goodish intent and I'm sure the Fediverse will keep on going with or without META, just really hope to see more of a general audience join us on the Fediverse

  @Zak It would make sense for him to be but I guess it might be easier to use accounts that are not so much public knowledge like @mosseri rather than the head of META themselves. Really hope if it goes well they will possibly even think about doing the same with there other platforms.

  Yes if certain instances don't like Threads they can de-federate from it, and I'm sure a few will, Personally I think it should be down to user choice as the users on Threads aren't to bad it's the company that is.

  The problem is there's only so far that the general userbase will grow without the fall off big tech, the only one that is close to falling is X formally Twitter and I don't think most people want those sorts of people on here, not yet at least.

  Sure you might be right in the way of the Fediverse growing but either way big tech is goanna want to join the Fediverse sooner or later, we might as well try and get as many users to jump the Big Tech ship and move to these platforms.

  Yes I get that but the only way people will feel like they can move across is by other bigger 'projects' being made like Threads that integrate and teach people the basics of the Fediverse before they possibly push off to Mastodon, Lemmy, Kbin, PixelFed, Ext.

  This is a good step even if the people behind it are terrible hopefully having people interact with other communities will push people to move over to them instead of being in control of META or other big companies.

  The only benefit is that the Fediverse will have potentially more users as well as companies possibly following in METAs steps and integrating ActivityPub. This is a beneficial step for the internet but only time will tell how it actually plays out.

  I'm sure if Bluesky doesn't create something the Fediverse will have someone create a bridge protocol opensource to allow for easy integration into these systems.

  What is really good for everyone already using the Fediverse as it doesn't mean as much work when it comes to bringing Threads & Mastodon compatibility. The multi-word tags are a cool feature but will have to looked at once Federated.

  As they haven't said they aren't coming to the Fediverse and if anything say they are still looking to Federate it's still on-topic as of the moment but yes it feels like they are kicking the can down the road or have lost it completely and just don't want to tell anyone yet.

  I've never really used Tumblr but it does sound like a cool fix, hope other Fediverse platform may consider it in the future.

  Yeah I really do hope they focus on federate in the near future as well as it will allow a wider audience of people to join the Fediverse without having to explain it. Knowing they are still working on the platform is at least a slight positive to them wanting to make it a go to platform for people.

  Probably the type of content, do you have a platform you prefer using as there are most likely Fediverse alternatives to them.

  Yeah it does seem like big games are trying to turn into platforms, take Minecraft they are trying to make there own eco-system for game devs as well.

  When they add support it would be cool to see if they add the ability to turn on / off strumming as that was a big part older rock band / guitar hero fans have gotten so used to strumming as someone new might not want to do strumming.

  Also would be cool to see Fortnite Festival controllers being sold in stores and I'm sure the game will keep to grow and develop over time.

  It depends on the film, film (the tape) is expensive to be able to record on and some Directors prefer recording on it. But most smaller filmmakers go digital due to budget as well as the ability to edit it easier.

  Yeah I use Mbin as of the moment and it can do most things just not Video ATM, Might have to check my lemmy account to see if I can actually watch content from PeerTube on there.
