Dividing by zero
still makes more sense to me than a lower-number-means-warmer-temperature scale.
- Comment on They say “anyone can become president”, but this will be the first presidential election since 1970s, where there is no Bush, Clinton, or Biden on the ballot. 1 month ago:
I thought so too. Until I saw Bloomberg try.

It is so so so painful to lose a loved one.
It is excruciating to lose them before they die.
Even worse is when you see parts of what you liked about them suffocating beneath the propaganda that poisoned them. This is like a threefold death.

We’d drive across the state as a kid and at the end of the day it was a sticky mess that was beginning to impact a driver’s ability to see well. I drove across the country a couple years ago and there were days at a time where we didn’t need to clean the windshield.

This feels like excerpts I read of “here’s just an example of how disenchantment and loss had impacted everyday citizens of _ in the early _ century”.
I forget what kind of coping mechanism it is called where I try to see things historically when they hit a little too close to home.

Congratulations and welcome to one of my favorite northwests. See the rainforests and the glaciers because their time is short.

The good news is that your descendants will look back at us with enough horror and disgust and pity to maybe do things better before the next fall of Rome. Probs not tho we kinda suck.

Unless you’re already aware of what it’s about, just watch it, without even a summary.
For those that have watched it, is it an example of a love story of the cinéma vérité variety?

50° F-ish/10° C-ish but also sunny during the coldest month of the year would probably be pretty welcome in my part of the world.
- Comment on first alert at 5 4 months ago:
It is July so I pray that this is at least not Fahrenheit. But it is July, so where could it be that cold° F—or cool° C—yet sunny, everyday? Hard pass.
- Comment on first alert at 5 4 months ago:
must be nice to start the day clean and cool at fucking 90° F/32° C. count your blessing.

The UX is onto something tho. What caused feet to become sooooooooo much more goddam popular in the last 10 years?
Like it’s my understanding that gays grew a condom fetish after AIDS began killing everyone in the 1900s…

Or maybe shame on Big Burger for being too scared to introduce a half pounder.
