- Comment on Do you ever worry that you're secretly a psychopath that unknowingly manipulates people around you? 8 months ago:
I’m gonna guess that “Quite the opposite; I have very strong morals. This however icludes things like not lying which means that I always speak the truth and not everyone likes hearing it. I don’t follow many of the social norms expected of me.” is the reason for this “A person recently said to me that they sometimes feel gaslighted around me because I so effortlesly make them question their own beliefs and feelings.”
- Comment on What kind of a gift can you give your teacher out of respect, but that doesn’t get mistaken for romance? 9 months ago:
“I live in a trashy society” don’t we all brother
More seriously, you got great advices in the thread, esp the pen and the muffins. You can offer sweets without having it mistaken as a romantic gestures, it then depends on the sweets you offer. A box of chocolates intent can easily be misconstrued, a box of donuts/muffins, much less so. Except if said muffins have hearts on them, it’s all about context.
Good luck !

It’s easier said than done tbh. It seems to be slowly changing lately tho, there’s hope still.

Do you know if there are, or if there are plans for a “new” Turing test ?

Stop blaming Devs and blame corpo above them. Can’t guarantee that’s the case here but it’s almost always their fault rather than the Devs when things go wrong on a launch like this.

Or move to a wiser instance that already defederated with them.
Now I’ll block you, because not only you’re a broken disc that doesn’t take input into account, you’re also short sighted.
- Comment on Seems like world deleted the Threads discussion post 10 months ago:
Calling very justified wariness about Threads “doomsaying” is naive, at best.
If I let you keep going you’re about to tell me that Facebook and Instagram aren’t that bad, so let’s stop here.
- Comment on Seems like world deleted the Threads discussion post 10 months ago:
So you are very ignorant about who’s behind Threads, how they operate and what they do, roger
- Comment on Seems like world deleted the Threads discussion post 10 months ago:
YMMV ofc but I’d tend to agree that it makes sense yes.
- Comment on Seems like world deleted the Threads discussion post 10 months ago:
Calling defederating Threads a “panic kneejerk reaction” is being very ignorant about who they are and what they do.
- Comment on Seems like world deleted the Threads discussion post 10 months ago:
Since it’s a moot point now, it’s not a consideration anymore but ew no, that wasn’t even an option in the first place.
- Comment on Seems like world deleted the Threads discussion post 10 months ago:
My original concern about “losing people” wasn’t about transferring away, but rather about leaving the fediverse entirely over the concern of having to remake an account and having to curate up to my standards all over again. Which is now a moot point since I’ve been given solutions to migrate easily.
- Comment on Seems like world deleted the Threads discussion post 10 months ago:
Fallacy much ?
Because I don’t want to be federated with threads doesn’t mean I want to hand over the curating to the instance owner, there’s such a thing as nuances.
I also formulated a wish for world to defederate, but my solution when they didn’t is to leave, you don’t see me brigading for them to absolutely do it, so please do not lend to me what I didn’t say.
- Comment on Seems like world deleted the Threads discussion post 10 months ago:
Thanks !
- Comment on Seems like world deleted the Threads discussion post 10 months ago:
To each their own reasons to care or not about being federated with Threads, it’s not what this post is about.
My line about how toxic it’s gonna be is my opinion and admittedly might not have its place here in the context, but I’m only a human making a post, wondering if I’m alone or if I’m missing an option for an easy migration.

- Comment on ASD jab: Chinese scientists reach milestone in revolutionary gene therapy for autism 11 months ago:
Yes, because we still got things we wouldn’t have without those people. Because some are barely functioning doesn’t mean they don’t function. And they’re so different than most people than they bring entirely different things to humanity.
It is also an obvious slippery slope to Genism and don’t even try to tell me that humanity can control itself and that this won’t be used the wrong way.
Either you know it will, or you’re clueless about the horrors humanity exacts.

Hello Genism my old friend
Do we really need to have the debate about ASD not needing to be “cured”, again ?
