She just played along as a joke, of course.
- Comment on What kind of CAPTCHA is this? 1 day ago:
It’s on some keyboards and opens the start menu on windows. It can, of course, also be used on Linux, because it’s just a key on a keyboard. For example, in Gnome it opens the overview per default (where you see all the windows as small tiles and can use the app search).
- Comment on [deleted] 1 day ago:
No, there’s also tone of voice, wording, facial expressions, smile/laugh and gestures indicating a joke. Also, once one person joked it can be followed up by more jokes, like a session.

I think Monaco is a different country, but I’m not sure about Schengen at the time and how it works for ships. I vaguely remember the ships captain has to tell customs when they approach a harbor with foreigners and someone may come to check passports. If that was necessary at that time and they didn’t do it, but dock with you on board anyway, it was technically human trafficking, because they basically smuggled you in secretly.

- Comment on Ninja sword owners will be paid to surrender weapons before ban 5 days ago:
It’s ridiculous to ban them because of that. The criminals could just use a kebab knife instead or whatever. A proper way would be to ban carrying all long knives around, except in closed boxes. So the kebab guy or sword collector can buy a knife and bring it to his restaurant/home, but by the time a criminal gets it out of the box ppl can call the police and it’s already a crime.

I hope, they catch the guy who did this.
- Comment on How would world politics be like if the top 100 countries (in terms of military strength) all had their own nuclear arsenals? 1 week ago:
a few dozen nukes make other military strength less important. an army of a few hundred soldiers could destroy a whole other country. so nations could focus on more important things.
- Comment on How did you guys get your fediverse real-time notifications to work? 2 weeks ago:
the first thing i do after installing an app is switching off notifications. i can switch it back on later, if i think it could be heloful, but in like 90% of apps they stay off

- Comment on Nuclear power’s global stagnation 3 weeks ago:
People often forget that nuclear, even though it’s cleaner than coal and oil, is still a fossil fuel that has to be mined and causes lots of havoc and pollution at the mining sites. It’s often swept under the rug together with waste storage.

I’m pretty sure he wanted to harm it before the elections or at least make it more right wing. I think he succeeded in both to a degree, his candidate won and he’s getting his reward.
- Comment on How do you think smartphone manufacturers will comply with EU's replaceable battery regulation? 3 weeks ago:
they will put the battery in a section not waterproof under the back cover. the replacement battery will come with a waterproof glue circle around the contacts. when replacing it, you will rub off some old glue and seal it again by inserting the new one. water can enter the back cover, but do no harm there.

- Comment on Palantir delivers first two AI-enabled systems to U.S. Army 3 weeks ago:
Because ppl start to ask questions when the ambulance or firetruck gets to the wrong house, but there will be no backlash when the ICBM hits the wrong house on another continent.
- Comment on [deleted] 3 weeks ago:
it’s also a cultural thing, meaning in one area or one group it can be popular to shave and at the same time there lives a group in parallel growing bushes.
however, it’s certainly better to at least keep it trimmed very short, so it doesn’t clog your shower or sticks to soap bars and also dries quickly.

- Comment on Why some people go full grey hair in their 30s? 4 weeks ago:
In my experience, women rejuvenate men (or maybe it’s all romantic partnerships idk). If it’s with her, suddenly long walks or sports are back on the table. It can get their spirits up and even change their political views to a degree. Like from doomer to socialist hippy in a month. Nothing turns a man anarchist quicker than being in a romantic relationship with a punk.

if the “Theft protection” setting is enabled, Android will lock if it detects such movement. If set up for it, the phone can be locked and eeased remotely. Not sure which versions. Screenshot_20250301-031038_Google Play services
- Comment on How would a stateless society handle serious threats such as mass murder and terrorism? 4 weeks ago:
That’s true, but in those ages ppl still got speared in the back or ritually sacrificed. So is this more successful than all of todays states in case of murdering and terrorising? I doubt it.
