- Comment on If Artificial Lifeforms gain sentience, would they be in the right to kill their creators in order to gain freedom? 1 day ago:
Well, did you kill your parents when you came of age? You can be free from someone without killing them.

For the rest of your life!

You can also reset your immune system by contracting measles.
C’mon anti-vaxxers, if you really want to get rid of your current immune responses, there are ways of doing that. Just take a trip to West Texas.
(Please don’t though.)
- Comment on HELP! How do I help educate my son about his body when I know nothing about boys?? 5 weeks ago:
Also relevant - you can’t smell porn. Everyone has a scent, especially when doing a physical activity.
- Comment on is it wrong/selfish to cut contact with my trump-supporting father? 5 weeks ago:
I should not be involved with people who turn a blind eye to fascism.
Full stop.
I’m sorry to say that you already know what you have to do. There’s no easy way to do it other than to just do it. If it makes the process easier, you don’t have to pose it as “it’s me or them” because you already know what his answer will be. If he was going to change, he’s had plenty of opportunities already.
Don’t wait for him anymore. Live YOUR life.

Yeah, yours is hypothetical. Good luck solving entropy.
- Comment on Donald Trump’s data purge has begun 1 month ago:
“People have died long before Jack the Ripper. If we want to prevent death, you need for the root cause, which isn’t Jack”
We’re not trying to solve every case of data disappearing, but the large influx that has appeared as a direct result of Trump’s orders.
In case it’s not obvious, the root cause of that is Trump.

“They might not have filed the correct paperwork prior to being run over and shot” is such a wild take.
- Comment on If you begin the Voyager episode "Spirit Folk" at exactly 11:49:35 on New Year's eve, Ensign Harry Kim will kiss a cow as the clock strikes midnight. 3 months ago:
Oh, I forgot that this week is when we get an influx of “If you start X at Y time, Z will happen at midnight” posts.

Junior is posing with an empty box of fries like he never learned how to pose to capture a memory, only to sell a product.
- Comment on have you ever been given a warning or suspension for using profane language at work? 5 months ago:
The difference is between cursing and cursing AT someone.
“The garage door broke.” “Ah, fuck.” - Fine “You fuck.” - Not acceptable
If you get a written warning, it’s probably time to start looking for a new job regardless.
- Comment on Honey 5 months ago:
“What does cyanide have to do with eating to survive?” It doesn’t - exactly like eating meat. You don’t need either to survive, and both are completely “natural”.
By saying that “partaking in natural things should be free from judgement”, you’re also arguing that we shouldn’t judge someone when they commit murder, rape, incest, and a whole slew of morally objectionable things because those things happen to also exist in nature.
If you meant that, you’re too far gone to have a reasonable conversation. If that’s not what you meant, then you need to rephrase your argument because “natural” does not mean “good”.
- Comment on Honey 5 months ago:
Being “natural” is not an indicator of “good” or “bad”.
Cyanide is natural. Eyeglasses are unnatural.
Maybe pick better metrics for society.
