No, I read that - it’s just not substantial. If the ding already existed, my point is that the driver is overlooking it in the photo we’re seeing. That is proof that it is not new damage and shouldn’t be considered in this case. I get that you’re trying to CYA, but it doesn’t need to be to this degree of hyper-vigilance.
- Comment on Diabolical 2 weeks ago:
verifiable evidence that the damage was pre-existing that the note leaver could somehow provide
Like a photo of the driver circling the car, unable to spot where the damage was, immediately after reading the note? Hmmmm…

- Comment on OpenAI says over a million people talk to ChatGPT about suicide weekly 2 months ago:
Hank Green mentioned doing this in his standup special, and it really made me feel at ease. He was going through his cancer diagnosis/treatment and the intake questionnaire asked him if he thought about suicide recently. His response was, “Yeah, but only in the fun ways”, so he checked no. His wife got concerned that he joked about that and asked him what that meant. “Don’t worry about it - it’s not a problem.”

Not sarcasm, unfortunately. I remember it as clearly as the marker and eraser… I mean “marker-juana” and “eraser-beer” we used to practice saying no to.

It’s because it’s a chemical that physically alters your body.
The entire class said it wasn’t a drug and got into an argument with the cop. We all knew that even if you label it “a drug”, it’s not like the actual drugs we’re talking about. No one is out there abusing shampoo.
It’s really no wonder that taking a D.A.R.E. class increases your likelihood of using drugs in adulthood.

That’s horrible! Truly awful! Which bars, specifically, should I be avoiding?
- Comment on i enjoy using drugs and that will never change 2 months ago:
D.A.R.E. taught me that shampoo was a drug.
I stopped caring about being labeled as a ‘drug addict’ after learning that if that applies to everyone who regularly showers.
- Comment on UK | Sex offenders to be denied parental responsibility for children born of rape 2 months ago:
I was worried after reading this article and the gov.uk article where every instance of ‘rapist’ is assumed to be male and every victim is female, but the wording of the actual amendment seems to be gender-neutral. Seems straightforward, and also surprising that something like this wasn’t on the books already.
- Comment on Big Brother just got an upgrade. Starting December, Amazon’s Ring cameras will scan and recognize faces. Don’t want to be in their database? Too bad — walk past a Ring and your face can be stored... 2 months ago:
There are also a million ways to achieve the same goals without agreeing to be Amazon’s snitch for your entire building. Amazon isn’t stealing the data. The ring camera owner sold everyone out.
Also, just so we’re clear, the maintenance worker still had access to her apartment and could have just lied about the reasons. It would not have stopped him in any meaningful way.
“But she would have known who it was!” … yeah, AFTER he was inside her apartment. It doesn’t even do the one thing you’re claiming it would be useful for.

A camera inside her apartment would have the same results without invading the privacy of every other tenant in the building.

- Comment on Taco Bell rethinks AI drive-through after man orders 18,000 waters 3 months ago:
I’m not saying they output directly to people’s car. I’m saying they have a queue of 15 or so drinks that they make where the employee only has to put the lid on the drink. You can’t fill any other orders if that machine is busy waiting for you to put the lid on a water so it can produce another 17,984 waters.
- Comment on Taco Bell rethinks AI drive-through after man orders 18,000 waters 4 months ago:
Unless the drinks are made automatically by a machine - I know McDonalds had those at least 10 years ago, so it would make sense that at least one Taco Bell has it. The customer could have gotten through the ‘payment’ of $0.00, and the employees might not have a quick way of cancelling an order that ‘was paid for’ and currently being made, but the article doesn’t go into detail.
- Comment on Does trump know he cheats at golf? 5 months ago:
You’re right about the last bit, but slightly off on what it means.
He thinks he’s got everyone fooled. He’s a toddler with no emotional stability and so he has to surround himself with people who will play along. Because even when other people call him out… what happens next?
They just shrug and move on. Eventually that makes these billionaires think that they’re master manipulators, when really, everyone is just tired of dealing with their emotional outbursts and are only going along for the paycheck.

- Comment on Itch.io is delisting NSFW games due to pressure from payment processors 5 months ago:
To be clear - “Collective Shout” both is and isn’t responsible. It’s the payment processors who actually enacted policies and are using them as the scapegoat for negative feedback.
How many times have people reported Twitter after Elon Musk took over for showing Nazi propaganda alongside their ads - with no response. An ‘open letter’ in July about a game already banned in April? DELIST EVERYTHING IMMEDIATELY.
