- Comment on Microsoft Needs So Much Power to Train AI That It's Considering Small Nuclear Reactors 1 year ago:
All ChatGPT does it’s basically regurgitate StackOverflow answers at you
All it does, eh? It doesn’t do anything else? I don’t think you’ve ever used ChatGPT. It has more knowledge and capabilities than any single human. Yes, a single human can have more expertise in one or bunch of the topics, but no human brain can have as much general knowledge as ChatGPT. And unlike us, it can improve, there’s no limit.
- Comment on What is your favorite programming language? 1 year ago:
Java.
- Comment on Microsoft Needs So Much Power to Train AI That It's Considering Small Nuclear Reactors 1 year ago:
Also, if you need that much power to do something bthat a human brain does with under 100 watts, I really think you’re doing it wrong
Show me at least 1 person that is capable of doing everything that something like ChatGPT can do.
- Comment on Drivers Co-op is doing a kickstarter to expand their Uber alternative thats owned by the drivers. 1 year ago:
In real life, people are subject to biases and heuristics even if they think that they are acting in their best interest. This is what many economic theories fail to take into account. Moreover, within the organization different subjects would have different economic interests and means to achieve them.
- Comment on Drivers Co-op is doing a kickstarter to expand their Uber alternative thats owned by the drivers. 1 year ago:
Because in any dispute between a driver and a customers, drivers will protect drivers.
- Comment on Drivers Co-op is doing a kickstarter to expand their Uber alternative thats owned by the drivers. 1 year ago:
As a customer I’d rather use a platform that is not owned by drivers.

Lemmy is a reddit clone with users from reddit. It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.
- Comment on Reddit is removing ability to opt out of ad personalization based on your activity on the platform 1 year ago:
I thought this was a legal requirement in the EU. Though it’s not my headache anymore.

What’s with this low-effort clickbait title? Come on…

Does it satisfy your needs or not?
- Comment on Neuralink’s human trials volunteers ‘should have serious concerns,’ say medical experts 1 year ago:
This is a publicity stunt to get more funding.
It would be if the FDA hadn’t approved this. This is the most puzzling part.

Will Launch Ad-Free Tier For Extra Fee
So instead of introducing a cheaper tree with ads, they’re forcing customers to pay more?
- Comment on Most U.S. adults don't believe benefits of AI outweigh the risks, new survey finds 1 year ago:
I don’t understand why people don’t have the fantasy imagine all the possibilities in which AI can help us progress from the absolutely dismal state of the world we live in currently.
Because one of the primal functions of our brains is to protect us from threats. These people live today. If history teaches us anything, it’s that such inventions benefit elites and it takes years of active civil work to fight back.
AI can help us save many problems, but risks are there. It doesn’t help that politicians have no idea how to regulate AI properly.
- Comment on Most U.S. adults don't believe benefits of AI outweigh the risks, new survey finds 1 year ago:
To be fair, this include those, who should regulate tech companies. I’d say that people should be concerned.

I can’t imagine AI controlled assault drones would help rich people at all.
Rich people sell them. Armies benefit from AI-controller drones, because they can be extremely precise, can hit moving targets and don’t care about connection interference if brains are on board.
- Comment on The summer is over, schools are back, and the data is in: ChatGPT is mainly a tool for cheating on homework. 1 year ago:
ChatGPT is mainly a tool for cheating on homework.
I disagree. The charts shows a 12% growth. How does it make ChatGPT a tool that is mainly being used by students? Some of these 12% are probably people, who came back from vacations.
- Comment on Facebook's VR Headset Not Selling, Literally Giving It Away 1 year ago:
I disagree. 3D TV is nothing compared to VR. VR is an absolutely incredible thing. It provided me the best gaming experience I’ve had in 19 years (from Hal-Life 2 to Half-Life Alyx) The issue is that you need the a good headset and a very expensive hardware to enjoy it, that’s one limitation. Because of that, there are not enough players and developers don’t want to spend money developing AAA-games for such a small market.

We are listening, talking to our team members, community, customers, and partners, and will be making changes to the policy. We will share an update in a couple of days. Thank you for your honest and critical feedback.
Let’s see what they’ll announce. So far it’s nothing.

Revenue does’t say much without costs.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 year ago:
Is there any reason to think it isn’t rooted in the difference in political alignment?
It’s not about different political views. It’s about aggressive pushing, where for one comment a user can get a full inbox of quite toxic replies. Of course there are toxic people on all instances, but brigading makes it much worse.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 year ago:
I have observed truckloads of lemm.ee users being banned on hexbear.net, meaning that they won’t see any Hexbearian’s reply to them since Hexbearians aren’t able to see their comments.
Oh, could they ban me too? Please.
- Comment on How do I block all of Hexbear from All? 1 year ago:
Community-wise, ignore is not a solution, because their behavior affects everyone and not in a good way.
- Comment on Update: Unity office death threat was made by a Unity employee 1 year ago:
That isn’t surprising at all. They gave him the job in the first place. And he’s trying to squeeze as much money as possible for them too.
- Comment on Update: Unity office death threat was made by a Unity employee 1 year ago:
I don’t know their motivation, but I imagine many people don’t want to see the project that they’ve been working on for years dead.

You could easily replace the battery back then! Not on iPhones, but on many Android devices.

- The artists streamed on Spotify.
- Spotify paid to the artists with “clean” money.
Do I understand this correctly?
- Comment on Meduza co-founder's phone infected with Pegasus 1 year ago:
Access Now points out that the four E.U. members that have become new centers of Russian anti-war emigration — Latvia, Estonia, Germany, and the Netherlands — are all suspected Pegasus users. In fact, the E.U. PEGA Committee revealed at least 14 E.U. states and 22 operators of Pegasus in the European Union.
Wow.
- Comment on Unity bosses sold stock days before development fees announcement 1 year ago:
What I’m getting at is that this announcement has very little movement on the stock price overall.
Hindsight bias. They didn’t know that before the announcement.
- Comment on Unity Software Inc's President and CEO John Riccitiello Sells 2,000 Shares 1 year ago:
…and in the end, it’s just a launcher.
It’s a digital store, meaning that you’re paying them money to have a record in their database that you “own” a game. This locks you to the service much more than a launcher would lock you. Lutris is just a launcher, not Epic Store.
