It’s becoming a lot easier to use the internet a lot less. It’s been turned into such a user-hostile space so domineered by corporations and fascists that most of the internet doesn’t really hold much of an appeal anymore, at least for me.
If the internet died tomorrow and didn’t come back, I’d be annoyed about not being able to use it to order food, manage my bank account, or watch shows/movies, but the world would likely be an overall better place once logistics re-adapted to not having it.
The internet was cool for the first 10-15 years, but it’s been a rapidly worsening cesspit for a long time. Nothing the internet can offer us is worth also tolerating it as a tool for inescapable government and corporate surveillance, and as the most effective imagineable breeding ground for fascism and disinformation.
The internet makes our lives worse in so many more ways than it imporves them, and people are too fucking addicted to it to give a shit.

It’s super cool that buying a new car and having any self-respect whatsoever are mutually exclusive now.

Would you rather go back to white people invading third world countries? That’s the alternative. I sure don’t want that, you’re a shitty person if you do.
- Comment on Twitter accused of helping Saudi Arabia commit human rights abuses 1 year ago:
They’re a sovereign nation. What are we gonna do, launch a military invasion? And it’s not like sanctions are a realistic solution, either; the west is far more dependent on Saudi oil than the Saudis are on western money. The world is chock full of other customers that will be more than happy to step up.
Yes, pretty much everything the Saudis do is abhorrent, but unless you’re suggesting that the answer to their crimes is to commit even worse crimes against them, you’re just flailing around spouting off impotent virtue signals.
Just like in any other country, the only legitimate way to solve the problem of govenment corruption and oppression is for the people of that country to force a change.
- Comment on 'Where ambition goes to die': These tech workers flocked to Austin during the pandemic. Now they're desperate to get out. 1 year ago:
Maybe, but it’s only ever going to get worse. All of Texas and most of the west as a whole are going to be unlivable soon.
The smart people are leaving now. Anyone who isn’t is going to be fucked when it becomes a refugee crisis.

Tesla sure as fuck would not be Tesla without his leadership.
You’re right, it wouldn’t; it would almost certainly be a better company.
Musk got Tesla where it is financially entirely through blatant fraud. “Earning” the company’s absurd valuation based almost entirely on dishonest promises of releasing a technology that is entirely unachievable, undesirable, and dangerous is an unsustainable business model, and it’s already showing cracks.
The fact that you seem to think that being highly profitable through constant ethical violations in every aspect of the company is to viewed as a succsess is honestly pretty gross.
- Comment on Steve Jobs: The difference of stealing yourself vs being stolen from 1 year ago:
Being a succsessful businessman does not make one a good businessman. Half of the equation is ethics, because it fucking matters.
A successful businessman with bad ethics and an unsuccsessful one with good ethics are both bad businessmen.
The only good businessman is one who both succeeds and has good ethics.

If you really want to to some good with that land, although it won’t make you any money, turn it back into a native natural habitat, or at least sell it to someone who will agree to do the same.

I’m not talking about Larian, I’m talking about the studios who want to keep cranking out suppisedly AAA games that are little more than creatively bankrupt, dressed up vending machines.
