- Comment on Battery electric vehicles lose their spark in Europe as hybrids steal the show 1 week ago:
Batteries are expensive, range causes anxiety, a small battery is possible in a hybrid thus price is lower
- Comment on Transport secretary considers ban on floating bus stops in UK cycle lanes 1 month ago:
Well I think the stupidity of the proposal is summarised here:
There is also some doubt about the safety case for a ban. In London, which has the highest number of floating bus stops in the UK, statistics for 2020-22 showed that of 623 pedestrians injured after being struck by a bike, 0.6% of them – four in all – were hit at floating bus stops. None of these incidents appeared to have happened at a designated crossing point.
Over the same period, 11,400 pedestrians and 15,000 cyclists were injured after being hit by motor vehicles.

The key sentence being:
A source, familiar with the deal, told the Telegraph: ‘It is fair to say that smoking is going to be less of a threat to these brave soldiers’ lives than fighting Putin’s illegal invasion of their country.’

I mean that’s exactly what the driver would do, I’m not sure why this is controversial
- Comment on Windows 10 will start pushing users to use Microsoft accounts. How to turn it off. 2 months ago:
yeah this was me. swapped to Mac. Couldn’t bring myself to sign up to all the debugging that would go into having a Linux based laptop. I left windows due to the overhead of disabling the bloatware, popups and general bullshit. I didn’t want to swap that for other ongoing issues. Just give me something that works. It’s an OS, not a hobby project

- Comment on Dark side of Starbucks app: Coffee giant accused of rigging payments to the tune of nearly $900 million over 5 years | Fortune 5 months ago:
Starbucks disputes this, noting that customers can pay for their purchase with whatever money remains on the app or gift card, then pay the balance in cash at the store.
Seems pretty clear cut

- Comment on ...So I Finally Quit Spotify 5 months ago:
From what I read, it’s more about stopping people using auto generated songs and uploading thousands of songs
- Comment on ...So I Finally Quit Spotify 5 months ago:
And in 2024, Spotify will stop paying out songs which get less than 1000 streams in a year. Which means for me, as an artist in the early stages of my career, I am going to get paid nothing. I could get over 1000 streams on all my songs in total, but still get paid nothing. I could get 999 streams on a song one year and 999 streams on it the next year… and still get paid nothing.
As the author states in the previous paragraph, Spotify pays 0.003c per stream. I don’t think the author has done the maths. 1000 streams equals 3c. He’s complaining over not getting paid 3c as if that will fund his career

Are you stupid? I said that because I’m a normal person on the internet and so the idea of being accused of running some viral marketing campaign for something or another sounded ridiculous, thus the “huh?”
What kind of stupid people do you surround yourself by that your assumption was that I didn’t understand what viral marketing was?

Why would you need a warning? It’s not a race. In fact, that’s probably part of the reasoning of not having a yellow before changing to green
