- Comment on End of a love affair: news media quit X over 'disinformation' 1 day ago:
Good thing we have Lemmy where the people control the instances and the community and we can filter out any users or communities that are full of lies. This works on a personal level but the information is still there and any new users must suffer until they can vet the info themselves or create their own echo chambers.

There’s just one catch: every atom in your body would be fully disassembled to the quantum level, effectively leaving your original body totally destroyed.
So just like Star Trek

Small boobies = nipple ok
Big boobies = nipple not ok
Is what I think this Instagram is trying to say. I don’t agree and think let the boobies be free.

It kills the deer and keeps on going, it doesn’t stop to let you collect it so you can eat it. They are chaotic evil vegans.
- Comment on 11 pumpkins printed! 2 weeks ago:
Maybe but it looks like the highest point of the pumpkin flesh is higher than the lowest point of the stem so it wouldn’t look as good. This way is much less waste and faster because you can print all the stems at once.
- Comment on Apple’s first Mac mini redesign in 14 years looks like a big aluminum Apple TV 2 weeks ago:
Yeah and I hear they might bring that back lol. Why haven’t there been any wireless mice that use wireless charging? They could include a super thin coil that you could place under any mouse pad. It doesn’t even need to charge fast so heat shouldn’t be an issue. Just trickle charge when it’s not being used.

Having the orange man inside you and then a huge recall from poisoning people is not good for sales.
- Comment on Court Orders Google (a Monopolist) To Knock It Off With the Monopoly Stuff. 2 weeks ago:
Ok now do Apple.
Google has always been the OS that allows users to get their apps anywhere. Apple has not.
Also could we throw in something that allows me to remove all Google apps from a stock OS instead of just disabling?

- Comment on how can i self host my music? 3 weeks ago:
Music assistant on home assistant or without HA will let you host your own music but also allow for the addition of streaming providers. It lets you cast your collection to pretty much any speakers. You can even build your own cast receivers with any android device and squeeze cast.

Watch The Boys for exactly that. You won’t get that from Disney.
- Comment on Switzerland authorizes removable PV plant on railway track 1 month ago:
One more reason. The reason they tell people not to lay on the tracks under the train, the freaking cables and chains that could come loose and dangle under the cars and drag along the ground that would cut you in half the long way. Those loose parts would just destroy the solar panels.

- Comment on A court blocks a couple from suing Uber over a crash, citing terms and conditions 1 month ago:
This would be the exact same type deal if it was an Uber driver that ran into a pedestrian that happened to have a Uber account and they said the victim can’t sue because they were an Uber user at one time. I think it’s time we all stop singing up for any service that has that clause. I know I plan to read the T&C for everything now.

I got the assembled kit 4 years ago. I highly recommend them.
- Comment on Read this if you own a Juicebox EV charger 1 month ago:
I second this! I have had mine for 4 years. It’s so nice having the ability to swap parts if anything fails. The brains can be swapped out as needed like if someone creates a new controller like one with Ethernet. I just noticed they released an upgraded screen. My wife is gonna hate me if I upgrade the screen. 😁 It integrated with home assistant too with the HACS package from firstofnine.

There will be about the same consequence as the Amazon warehouse that would t let their employees leave during a tornado. Nothing.
- Comment on Reddit is making sitewide protests basically impossible 1 month ago:
I fear Reddit might be going the way of Twitter and Facebook, too many users which makes them too big to fail or their failure is sooo slow that by the time they do fail they will have cemented their footholds in our politics they will puppet our politicians more than now.
- Comment on Smart TVs take snapshots of what you watch multiple times per second 1 month ago:
Yea I don’t believe it, that’s some processor intensive streaming. My security camera feeds can’t even do that. 100fps is crazy for streaming. Are we sure these “screenshots” aren’t just anonymous metric gatherings like video codecs and resolution?

- Comment on How come LED Light Bulbs only last for about 2-3 Years? 1 month ago:
Killer of LED bulbs is heat. If you have some in fixtures that trap heat you should either replace the fixtures or get high quality bulbs for those fixtures. Look for bulbs rated for hot locations. And for outdoors make sure it’s rated for wet areas.
- Comment on How come LED Light Bulbs only last for about 2-3 Years? 1 month ago:
I had one flicker after 8 years and the company replaced it for free. The rest of my 10 year old bulbs are still working fine. I wish they would die though to give me an excuse to replace them with the better color versions. Many of mine are still the old ones with green that can only go to 🍋🟩 lime.
- Comment on How come LED Light Bulbs only last for about 2-3 Years? 1 month ago:
I added all my 10 year+ Hue bulbs to a zigbee stick about 4 years ago. I control them with Home assistant and Zigbee2mqtt. They were a bit flakey at first but after awhile now with updates they have been flawless. Best thing is you still get firmware updates through z2m. Highly recommend using Hue bulbs for their long term support and quality. I have had 1 bulb start flickering and Hue actually replaced it, free of charge.
- Comment on Headlamp tech that doesn’t blind oncoming drivers—where is it? 1 month ago:
Or have the sensors mounted on the cop cars themselves. So driving by them can trigger an alert, it will give them the ability to confirm the readings or issue a fix it ticket that won’t be an automatic fine unless the person is caught again. Shouldn’t punish people that don’t know their lights are illegal on the first offense.
