There were a lot of “stuck in a game” anime well before SAO. Log horizon came a few years before. .hack//SIGN about 10 years prior. And hell, Digimon came even before that.

It makes it a lot easier though. When I’m in good shape and my hair is looking decent, it’s pretty easy to chat up girls at bars and parties. Plus 10lbs, it gets significantly harder. Add an unfortunate fuckass haircut, not a good time.
Reality can be cruel. Of course this goes the other way too, and it is far, far from a rule. Personality can make up for a lot. But when you’re trying to talk to someone you don’t know, looks are the first thing being judged.

when all the characters I like start dropping like flies, it makes it really hard to feel attached to any other characters. When that happens, I end up losing interest, left with only a bitter taste in my mouth. S1 very much did that to me, so I won’t be watching the second one unless I hear it isn’t a tragedy. I don’t need a fairytale ending, but S1 was just one punch to the gut after the other. And I’m not into that.

They switched from the console itself being a loss leader like they did in previous generations to actually trying to profit off of them. Because they decided selling games and online subscription to use them isn’t enough anymore.
So yes, the PS6 will be just as bad, if not worse. Look at prices of PS5’s right now. I know it’s because of the ai bubble, but we don’t know how long it’s going to last.
Also the “easy” major gains in performance are gone. Making computers faster used to be a manufacturing problem, now it’s a physics problem. Don’t expect major gains per die size or power consumption anytime soon. The next gen will obviously be faster than the current gen, but I’d expect an even smaller generational leap than from ps4 to ps5, and that additional performance won’t be free.

I’ve gotten a mouthful of it syphining it from one tank to another. Not only does it smell great, but it tastes better than most cheap liquors, and some expensive ones. ^don’t drink it though^

I don’t think I’ve ever thought of One Piece taking place in any real life locations.
But I feel like I’ve watched a lot of mid to somewhat terrible nautical/pirate themed anime from the 90s-2010s.

Utterly unhelpful, but I swear I’ve watched some kind of pirate/nautical themed anime set in the Philippines. I know they mention, and maybe even go to the Philippines in Black Lagoon, but I think it was a different show?

Hell yeah, D.Gray-man was so good. Hallow not as good iirc, and it’s been a while since I’ve read the manga, but I remember it kinda going off the rails in a way that I didn’t really enjoy.
Have you read the manga in the last like …10 years? I’d be down to pick it back up / reread it, but im sure I dropped it for a reason…
