Godwin’s law was a lot more relevant when we didn’t have Hitler 2 in the middle east and a political party approximately half a step from openly being the neo-Nazi party.

Do you have any idea how deranged this sounds to the rest of the world
- Comment on Reddit is making sitewide protests basically impossible 1 month ago:
Reddit, like all major social media, have really been making me feel like dead internet “theory” is real.

I don’t know why people are missing this. If your fucking workplace gets flooded you won’t have a job anyways. If it’s so bad you’re moving parking spots your workplace is toast anyways. Get your ass moving!
- Comment on You'll have to use pto time to drown, but make sure it's approved first 1 month ago:
You’d be without many meals if you died in a flood.

That’s racism, try again

I always steered clear of OpenAI when I found out how weird and culty the company beliefs were. Looked like bad news.

That also sounds odd to me. I’ve been consistently taught in school to avoid passive voice and it was a huge struggle for me for a long time (case in point). I’m attending a college in Canada for the record.

Even if i was modeling I don’t think I could do this.

Not a millennial but I will always argue that the modern internet is inherently worse for people than the internet even of 15 years ago.

Google Docs is free because they use your data for advertising and AI training.

Hmm, turns out the human body doesn’t like to be tampered with! Who could have predicted this? I’m sure this is akin to organ rejection but I’m definitely surprised that the brain has these kinds of mechanisms. Maybe to defend against ancient parasites?

Pretty sure it’s a pattern and not actual piss

Time and place my friend. Do you not think free access to information should be granted to everyone?

Shitty Samsung Tab A8, it’s a random XDA developers AOSP ROM that I’ve removed Google garbage from. I don’t like the Samsung skin, it’s slow and has a ton of bloatware. Because I don’t need push notifs on it, there are no gapps replacements installed on it either. So I just use all F-Droid apps since I just browse the internet, read books, and read manga with it. Newpipe for YouTube.

Language evolves over time. Prescriptivism always fails.

This has to do with all the services running in the background. Modern phones are actually extremely efficient, providing you’re not connected to push notification services and don’t have apps running in the background all the time.
Problem is that Google and Apple loooove user data and so it’s very hard to do this, impossible in the case of iOS. I have a fully google-less tablet and that things lasts many days on 1 charge.
- Comment on this one goes out to the arts & humanities 6 months ago:
Because most people don’t engage with art critically. See Marvel movies. Maybe others are fine with remixed slop but I am not.
- Comment on this one goes out to the arts & humanities 6 months ago:
I’m talking inside the context of capitalism. Yes it would be nice if we had a UBI to support people but we don’t. I agree that art is fundamentally human.
Outside of the context of capitalism I’m not sure AI art would be found very useful at all because its main point at the moment is remixing the same shit everyone’s seen before for profit. To make mass produced lowest-common-denominator slop.

CONSOOM THE SLOP. I LOVE SLOP SO YOU MUST TOO

It’s so impossible in fact that the CIA spends millions destabilizing countries that are even threatening to become socialist.
- Comment on this one goes out to the arts & humanities 6 months ago:
Spoken like someone who doesn’t understand why people engage with art in the first place.

And the things it’s good at have been developed by stealing GPL/copyleft code.
- Comment on this one goes out to the arts & humanities 6 months ago:
AI doesn’t threaten art as a medium. It threatens art as a job.
- Comment on this one goes out to the arts & humanities 6 months ago:
It would have natural rights, yes. Watch Star Trek TNG’s “The Measure of a Man” which tackles this issue exactly. Does the AI of current days have intelligence or sentience? I don’t believe so.
- Comment on this one goes out to the arts & humanities 6 months ago:
This is 100% correct. It can overlap but honestly as someone going into embedded systems I despise tech bros.
