Omg, they’re onto something. Will you reply no matter what people type?
- Comment on Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver - Official Teaser Trailer 1 day ago:
Nah, that wouldn’t be enough to differentiate PoE to hzd, imo. It’s like comparing Max Payne to CSGO. Or I dunno… rocket league to Football manager… or Mario party to street figther… trying to cover as many bases here to cover the games that you might be more familiar with. xD. Point is, in both games you get a character which you level up and customize by doing quests and killing mobs, but that’s pretty much where the similarities end, as far as the gameplay, mechanics and goals of fans go.
And for the record, despite this also being called an arpg, it’ll be very different from both PoE and hzd. ARPG seems to be as vague as “driving game” or “shooter”.
- Comment on Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver - Official Teaser Trailer 1 day ago:
Well, in this case, I just saw op say that this game was gonna be an arpg and because I play a lot of PoE, last epoch, etc. I was expecting something in that vein. Then I open the link and I see 2 seconds of something that looks more like hades or god of war and I was disappointed. So if me wishing we had better terms for various genres makes me a prescriptivist, I guess I am one, in this case.
Also tdggrpg is too complicated of a subgenre name, I feel xD
- Comment on Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver - Official Teaser Trailer 2 days ago:
We need more subgenres! What do you call breath of the wild or the spiderman games in that case?
Imo god of war/ horizon are aptly named because they’re action focused RPGs.
We need new, better name for the “diablo-like” games, however. I feel like those are different enough that there’s not enough “rpg” left in them beyond the character building elements. Survivorslike aren’t RPGs despite them having character leveling and stuff so why should diablo 4 /Poe be called rpgs?

- Comment on Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver - Official Teaser Trailer 2 days ago:
We’ve only seen 2 seconds of gameplay, how can you be sure it’s not a rogue like or something?
Also, this comment reminded me how ridiculous I find it that we have genres such as “metroidvania” and “souls like”, “auto shooter” , “survivors like” and etc. Yet we can’t come up with subgenre names other than arpg which can describe everything from Bastion, to Horizon Zero down, to path of exile. What’s up with that?
- Comment on Happy anniversary of the day absolutely nothing happened at nowhere square! 2 days ago:
My claim? You don’t even care who you’re replying to, everyone is wrong and nothing else matters xD
- Comment on Happy anniversary of the day absolutely nothing happened at nowhere square! 2 days ago:
People also claim the earth is flat. Your point?
- Comment on The Witcher 4 - Cinematic Trailer | State of Unreal 2025 5 days ago:
Most of the people that appear in Witcher trailers are just random victims or passer-bys.
This video was split into 2, in the other half we learn that the merchant told ciri that he was transporting salt. And that was a chest full of coins.
So, not your fault nor some lore that you’re unaware of.
- Comment on Had a take about Supergiant Games that recieved a lot of pushback fromy two longest running best friends. 1 week ago:
All 4 games are great. And I do enjoy the one and done deal of the first 2. I don’t mind finishing a game in a few hours. If anything, that’s actually a bonus nowadays. Most games I stop halfway and never finish.
However, if you were to just focus on finishing the main story and consider that enough, I think you could finish Hades just as quickly. So to me Hades is just the same kind of game but with more replayability.

- Comment on Common British L 2 weeks ago:
Well, there’s no “British cuisine” per se, but there are British restaurants. For example a pretty famous and influential one. Also, most pubs serve food and those are now pretty much everywhere in the world, that’s quite British, isn’t it? Dunno the history, but I always associated it with the Brits, maybe I’m wrong.

Exactly. The app has been shitty for almost a decade now. How much slack are we supposed to cut to a multibillion dollar company?
- Comment on It must tremble 5 weeks ago:
Yeah, you’re probably right… And I know what you mean, got an Asperger’s diagnosis as an adult and while that’s relatively mild on the spectrum, it still makes things difficult sometimes.
- Comment on It must tremble 5 weeks ago:
Yeah, I know, I agree. But it’s a joke, ofc it’s exaggerated. Nobody is seriously saying it’s that much effort to play with a cat. At least I hope not
- Comment on It must tremble 5 weeks ago:
Well, they probably mean that it feels like more work for us because we also have other shit to do, we’re tired, etc. while the cats only sleep and eat the rest of the time. And also, depending on the cat, sometimes they just hide in a corner for a few minutes, run after the toy for 3 seconds then they hide again for a minute, then they run again for 3 seconds and so on. Meanwhile you keep trying to entice them and they’re just sitting there while you dance for them with the toy.
Also, from what I’ve read, unless you’re using treats at the same time as a reward sort of thing, lasers might be stressful for the cats because they don’t get to catch anything.

I mean, when even people on Lemmy (who are supposed to be a bit more tech literate and stuff) insist that the solution is cutting a couple 2 letter words from your search query to make everything much shorter and efficient, are you even surprised?
I’ve been thinking for a while that people seem to be getting dumber and it might actually be true I don’t think that it’s a coincidence that fascism and other forms of conservatism seem to be on the rise pretty much everywhere in the world.
- Comment on In heat 1 month ago:
I just tested. “Angelina jolie heat” gives me tons of shit results, I have to scroll all the way down and then click on “show more results” in order to get the filmography.
“Is angelina jolie in heat” gives me this bluesky post as the first answer and the wikipedia and IMDb filmographies as 2nd and 3rd answer.
So, I dunno, seems like you’re wrong.
- Comment on What is the best Sea based game out there in your opinion? 1 month ago:
Abzu? Dave the diver, maybe? Dredge?
Or, this might be a might more out of left field or maybe completely stupid and not at all what you had in mind, but what about coral island? You don’t get to experience the water surface except when fishing or doing other stuff on the shore. But you get to do stuff on the bottom and there’s mermaids and stuff.
Stardew valley with a tropical island vibe. So definitely fun and immersive. Definitely more adjacent than something like sea of thieves or black flag or subnautica, but I feel like it fits better than just cause 3, imo

Move? It’s always been a migration with these games. That’s why they try to schedule their patches to not coincide with other similar games’ launches/patches
- Comment on Should we boycott games with loot boxes? 1 month ago:
Right, but the fifa series afaik makes more of its money by selling packs of cards with players in them. Packs and players that you can get by just playing. But they still sell those packs for $$, so why wouldn’t it count?
Borderlands the same, you can buy random gear with cash. I guess it’s less fomo and less abusive, but they’re still literal loot boxes that they sell for money

I’m here, so I’m more likely to know who that is or what he looks like. But I don’t. I do now because you mentioned him and I looked up how he looks like. Your average Joe is gonna be even less likely to know who that is or what he looks like. So I’m guessing that’s why. Some CEOs just avoid the spotlight. Or maybe I’ve just been avoiding MS news, dunno
- Comment on Are there any games you don't play as it was intended to be played? If so, what game and how? 2 months ago:
I often use cheats to remove grindy and boring bits beyond a certain point. Usually the difficulty curve is pretty bad and a game is only hard in the beginning. So I play as intended until I reach a point at which it’s just a matter of time and not skill. So I just give myself a ton of crafting mats or currency or whatever so I can focus on the fun and interesting parts of the game.

Ah, I see. Fait enough. Personally I enjoyed it. No point in making a different game just to have better graphics. PoE 1 is still there for those that don’t like the new one… and I’m looking forward to alternating between the 2, if they manage to find the pace which they promised.

- Comment on Best game ever? 2 months ago:
This again? Anyway, sure… Tetris or doom for importance. Not really the best. That goes to rdr2 for being one of the best selling games of all time while also being almost universally loved. Not my personal favourite game, but objectively speaking, the title should go to rdr2, I think
- Comment on One-handed games? 2 months ago:
So left hand only games… driving games should work(enjoying NFS heat, atm), turn based games and isometric RPGs (plenty of those, depends on preferences… Balatro, slay the spire, XCOM, disco Elysium, etc… I could make a list if needed).
Telltale games like the wolf among us and stuff Vampire survivors and all the similar games (halls of torment, soulstone survivors, etc)
