Yeah, you’re probably right… And I know what you mean, got an Asperger’s diagnosis as an adult and while that’s relatively mild on the spectrum, it still makes things difficult sometimes.
- Comment on It must tremble 1 day ago:
Yeah, I know, I agree. But it’s a joke, ofc it’s exaggerated. Nobody is seriously saying it’s that much effort to play with a cat. At least I hope not
- Comment on It must tremble 1 day ago:
Well, they probably mean that it feels like more work for us because we also have other shit to do, we’re tired, etc. while the cats only sleep and eat the rest of the time. And also, depending on the cat, sometimes they just hide in a corner for a few minutes, run after the toy for 3 seconds then they hide again for a minute, then they run again for 3 seconds and so on. Meanwhile you keep trying to entice them and they’re just sitting there while you dance for them with the toy.
Also, from what I’ve read, unless you’re using treats at the same time as a reward sort of thing, lasers might be stressful for the cats because they don’t get to catch anything.

I mean, when even people on Lemmy (who are supposed to be a bit more tech literate and stuff) insist that the solution is cutting a couple 2 letter words from your search query to make everything much shorter and efficient, are you even surprised?
I’ve been thinking for a while that people seem to be getting dumber and it might actually be true I don’t think that it’s a coincidence that fascism and other forms of conservatism seem to be on the rise pretty much everywhere in the world.
- Comment on In heat 1 week ago:
I just tested. “Angelina jolie heat” gives me tons of shit results, I have to scroll all the way down and then click on “show more results” in order to get the filmography.
“Is angelina jolie in heat” gives me this bluesky post as the first answer and the wikipedia and IMDb filmographies as 2nd and 3rd answer.
So, I dunno, seems like you’re wrong.
- Comment on What is the best Sea based game out there in your opinion? 2 weeks ago:
Abzu? Dave the diver, maybe? Dredge?
Or, this might be a might more out of left field or maybe completely stupid and not at all what you had in mind, but what about coral island? You don’t get to experience the water surface except when fishing or doing other stuff on the shore. But you get to do stuff on the bottom and there’s mermaids and stuff.
Stardew valley with a tropical island vibe. So definitely fun and immersive. Definitely more adjacent than something like sea of thieves or black flag or subnautica, but I feel like it fits better than just cause 3, imo

Move? It’s always been a migration with these games. That’s why they try to schedule their patches to not coincide with other similar games’ launches/patches
- Comment on Should we boycott games with loot boxes? 2 weeks ago:
Right, but the fifa series afaik makes more of its money by selling packs of cards with players in them. Packs and players that you can get by just playing. But they still sell those packs for $$, so why wouldn’t it count?
Borderlands the same, you can buy random gear with cash. I guess it’s less fomo and less abusive, but they’re still literal loot boxes that they sell for money

I’m here, so I’m more likely to know who that is or what he looks like. But I don’t. I do now because you mentioned him and I looked up how he looks like. Your average Joe is gonna be even less likely to know who that is or what he looks like. So I’m guessing that’s why. Some CEOs just avoid the spotlight. Or maybe I’ve just been avoiding MS news, dunno
- Comment on Are there any games you don't play as it was intended to be played? If so, what game and how? 3 weeks ago:
I often use cheats to remove grindy and boring bits beyond a certain point. Usually the difficulty curve is pretty bad and a game is only hard in the beginning. So I play as intended until I reach a point at which it’s just a matter of time and not skill. So I just give myself a ton of crafting mats or currency or whatever so I can focus on the fun and interesting parts of the game.

Ah, I see. Fait enough. Personally I enjoyed it. No point in making a different game just to have better graphics. PoE 1 is still there for those that don’t like the new one… and I’m looking forward to alternating between the 2, if they manage to find the pace which they promised.

What makes the first 70 levels not fun for you?
- Comment on Best game ever? 5 weeks ago:
This again? Anyway, sure… Tetris or doom for importance. Not really the best. That goes to rdr2 for being one of the best selling games of all time while also being almost universally loved. Not my personal favourite game, but objectively speaking, the title should go to rdr2, I think
- Comment on One-handed games? 5 weeks ago:
So left hand only games… driving games should work(enjoying NFS heat, atm), turn based games and isometric RPGs (plenty of those, depends on preferences… Balatro, slay the spire, XCOM, disco Elysium, etc… I could make a list if needed).
Telltale games like the wolf among us and stuff Vampire survivors and all the similar games (halls of torment, soulstone survivors, etc)

Michael Mando aka Nacho Varga from better call Saul. Guy needs to be in more stuff. He’s fun to watch for sure.
- Comment on Gaming has a polarization problem 1 month ago:
The only problem is that people are idiots, especially online. Go to any comment section and you’ll find people angry at the content, no matter what the content is. And you’re taking them seriously, for some reason. Laugh at them and move on, no more polarization problem. As you’ve said, 77% of people enjoyed avowed. Probably even more, as people are a lot more likely to leave a bad review than a good one.

Yup. I’m fine with bg3 being considered a shit game. That’s an opinion and everyone can not like it. But it’s silly to label it something that it’s not. Something that’s more or less measurable . Like pretending the sky is green or something. Makes no sense.

My thoughts exactly when I read your list of “deeper” games. What exactly can you do in kingdom come that BG doesn’t allow you, for example?

Guess we just have a different definition of deep then if you feel like those games give you more options than bg3.

Can you give some examples of games that give more freedom than that? Because as the other person said, ff7 is not one of those. And I too am curious because I love those kinds of games.
- Comment on Facebook Cybertruck Owners Group Copes With Relentless Mockery 1 month ago:
Hey, so I’ve got no horse in this race and also not a native English speaker so please bear with me.
To me the op’s statement sounds ironic, but not really a projection. According to google, to project is to unconsciously attribute your thoughts/feelings onto someone else. Like if you’re having an argument and you’re losing and as a self defense you claim that the other party is angry and or unreasonable or whatever.
In this case the cybertruck owner says the guy shaming him should be shamed. He doesn’t realise that it’s him who should feel shame, so it’s ironic.
Am I missing something? Or was it all just some joke and I’m just overthinking it?

That’s why I think they’re great. Good standalone songs put in a fitting context.
Bought and played NFS heat recently. Game was surprisingly good, music, however had too much hip-hop/pop and stuff like that for my taste so that was disappointing.

Yeah, I know, I’ve played it a few years ago. Was pretty fun. I’ve always been into stealth and games. Commandos 2 and hitman codename 47 being some of my favourite games for kid me.
I was actually surprised to realise that I’ve played everything on the list except for the Indiana Jones (which I’ve downloaded but I haven’t got around to playing yet) and the captain America games.

This is the first game list article where I’ve read anything beyond the titles of the games. And it was worth it. Thanks for the share!

Which part was confusing? The only major difference iirc was the districts mechanic, wasn’t it? Was that the issue?
