  I ran an Apple TV in the living room for a long time to access my Plex server and whatever subscription my wife has this month. As time went on it got more and more glitchy until it came to the point where I had to power cycle the thing every few days. Replaced it with a cheap fire stick, annoyed the crap out of me. Replaced that with a cheap Roku, it was only slightly better than the shitty firestick.

  My wife got me the NVIDIA shield pro for Christmas this year, and I picked up the p2920 controller for it. My god this thing is awesome - not only is it the best tv box I’ve ever used, I can use moonlight to play games on my rig or GeForce now to stream games. I highly recommend this thing

  Electricity likes the path of least resistance to ground. If you are only touching with one hand, most likely the current well run down that side of your body to ground more or less.   I have a group of friends, half in same town as me, half on the other side of the country, that get together once a week ion discord and play dnd via a self hosted foundry virtual tabletop docker. We used to play 5e but we decided to try out pathfinder 2e to see if we liked it and we haven’t gone back, pathfinder is fantastic. The flexibility with the actions makes it feel like you always get a chance to do something and you aren’t just wasting your turn when you are getting into position or whatever. Feels close enough to 5e that most of your intuition will be pretty close, just use a different website to look shit up. Highly recommend pathfinder!

  Unless you have a smuggled device you aren’t getting access to gmail or any other email in prison. They have their own monitored communication systems that charge the inmate absurd amounts of money to use.

  My main issue with Discovery was that it never felt like Star Trek. I always called it BBC’s Trek through the Stars because to me it felt like a BBC drama set in a vaguely Trek like universe. It was a good show, just didn’t FEEL like Trek. Strange New Worlds though? Feels just like the Trek I miss

  Bruh…… on an average 8 hour workday I log 10-12 billable hours in tickets, or projects, or whatever I happen to be working on. That’s from overlap/multitasking as I’m constantly interrupted in my talks to help others with theirs. I’m lucky to get 2 minutes to catch my breath

  for real…my last account, i got banned from r/antiwork for saying eat the rich in relevant context. i appealed the ban, appeal denied. i PM’ed the mod and called him a hypocrite, account banned from reddit for mod harassment. appealed that, was told that was indeed harassment. they killed the API a few months later so I never got around to making another one

  I was always a lurker on reddit because every time I spoke my mind I would get silenced/banned/whatever. Literally every time I ever tried to say anything that wasn’t 100% in lockstep with the hive mind, shut down, so I stopped bothering. So far Lemmy has been great in that regard!
