Reminder that Nintendo is to Japan as Disney is to the USA.
We can only speculate what patents are involved, might be legit might not but it doesn’t have to be legit and the actual patent they ibtained could be nonsense, they just have to power to bend someine over a chair because they felt like it.

Theres not fixing what ain’t broke and there is refusing to budget to move on when needed. There are a lot of ifs and assumptions in your reply trying to put me in my place here. Old software that won’t run on anything modern becomes a recipe for disaster when said hardware breaks down and can’t be replaced with anything that functions.
Fuck it lets see if all 3 of my replies can get to negative 3 digits: none of this matters because the original problem was pretty damm easy to fix but here I am taking shit on social media for saying so.

Remember when they tried to pretend he was not really involved? And then the time the removed his name? Insert pepperage farm meme graphic.

I felt that way till the influx of redditors came to get their little dopamine kicks via the rate buttons and bickering on bs topics.

I know my industry thanks. I’ve over a decade of experiance in sizable complex organizations. You know who else likes to cling rmto outdated hardware and software? Hopefully this scares you because it should: medical organizations.
What they peoppe did during this fiasco was objectively worse but everyone in this thread just isn’t happy that I didn’t join them in shitting on microsoft. This is where lemmy shows that its users are becoming more like reddit users every day.
Hopefully none of those systems were exposed to anything internet facing for obvious reasons, but given the shear incompetance observed I wouldn’t be surprised.

Omg its so hard to reboot into safemode delete one bad file and then reboot again. SO HARD guys. So lets run windows 3.1 and windows 95 and deploy old crusty windows 2008 servers again till this vlows over. /s
I’m in IT for a living. Even my dimmest bulbs at my company were able to solve this and keep the same pc running, minus crowdstrike’s bad update. I struggle to imagine what it must be like for other companies IT staff to make the choices they did during this.

The only reak use of trademark I could find was actually on the twitter account clownstrike took a picture of, unless they seriously want to try and tell is they think the name could be confused for theirs with a straight face.

Copyright assholes got a seat at the table when it was being drafted everyone else was given the finger. Its designed to be easily abused. Accidently on purpose, if you get me.

I’d stop spending all my tome on trying to survive and poor all my hours into work I want to do instead of have to do. I have a ton of stuff I’d actually want to do that are very definately work but I can’t make a living doing it, so I don’t!

The holodeck on the enterprize has been insane ever since the Binars messed with it. Theres never any telling when a seemingly random “incident” will occur there and their hack was so sophisricated nothing ever comes up in diagnostics.
To bad the Binars aren’t interested in doing this type of things for reasons other than distracting Riker.
- Comment on Microsoft CEO says unfair practices by Google led to its dominance as a search engine 1 year ago:
No ms, your search offering was such utter shit that only the AI boom saved you from the death it deserved and your attack on google comes to late - google is already falling from its pedistal on its own because they’ve enshitified the service.

Gog has support problems on some windows games too. Also they mark games run via dosbox as windows, which is annoying when you specifically want to find an older windows game that also had a dos release. Even with those issues, gog is still my goto because at least my games won’t be full of denuvo securom etc. and nobody else seems to remotely care about the really old harder to find games. I’d be scouring ebay fo old discs if not for gog.

Not to mention money can be made litteraly betting on the stock price swinging from the bad news. Calls and puts plam far enough in advance and automate/preset triggers via broker agreements and can even avoid getting nailed for the obvious insider trading a lot of the time.

I think at a minimum if you stop publishing and supporting your own work you shouldn’t get to cry copyright whem somebody else does. For that context 10 certainly seems plenty long…
