Second Ruri Rocks, it’s amazing. Also you’ll learn a bunch!

Makeine has some great light and shadows, it’s a beautifully directed show. Not fantasy but really well written as well.

KLK is my favorite anime of all time. I love Kazuki Nakashima, Gurren Lagann also pretty big for me. Still gotta watch BNA.
Trigger is great, I know a lot of them come from the Gainax legacy. Edgerunners was great, they also did Dungeon Meshi and New Panty and Stocking among others. They’re my second favorite studio after Cloverworks.
I have seen Inferno Cop but it’s been a while and I know there’s gonna be more soon so I should revisit.

I love Kill la Kill so much. The wedding fantasy is such powerful imagery, knowing the context makes Ryouko’s smile here scary and sad.

Yeah you could go either way, it handles tone control excellently. It’s got everything!
Winter season looking pretty good, I’m excited for Medalist and Frieren the most. I need to catch up on Oshi No Ko that’s coming back too

Dungeon Meshi is so good, i cannot wait for season 2. I haven’t read the manga but season 1 was incredible.

- Girls Band Cry (girl band)
- The Dangers in My Heart (romcom)
- Medalist (sports comedy)
All involve writer Jukki Hanata, who worked on “A Place Further Than The Universe” I’m pretty sure, and are all emotional bangers.
- Gurren Lagann (robits and oppression / rebellion)
- Kill la Kill (fashion and authority / conformity, my favorite anime of all time)
These two are my favorite action shows, strong political overtones and actual ends to the stories, very satisfying. Same creator for both.

Aww, poor Komari, she’s my favorite. I cannot wait for this show to come back.
- Comment on Learning to drive 3 weeks ago:
10 and 2 was always stupid. When I was young I got an opportunity to go to a racing school and that was one of the first things they talked about. If you mime driving a car, do you put your hands at 10 and 2? No, you’ll probably do 9 and 3. Better control, less going hand over hand.
Also you should push the steering wheel with your outside hand, not pull it. Smoother input.

- Comment on Are there good Movies, TV Shows, Anime, with wholesome family (particularly parent-child) relations? 5 weeks ago:
Medalist is an anime about figure skating and the relationship between the young skater and her coach is wholesome as fuck. Not a parent per se but similar vibes. I particularly like how they both help each other; adults have problems too and kids are smarter than we adults often give them credit for, and the show captures that very well. If you like the dynamic in Spy X Family you’ll probably like it.
Also the skating is beautifully animated and the sports anime structure keeps the plot moving along. One of my favorite shows of all time.

I would absolutely watch a toddler Sheev, Dooku, and Maul cartoon. Like Rugrats, but they’re all scheming to kill each other. Anakin is a baby a la Dyl.
- Comment on Are there video media (e.g TV shows, Movies, anime, video games, youtube videos, etc...) with a majority of the dialogue in an fictional language? 1 month ago:
Sigur Ros is a band that sings in a fictional language, I’m pretty sure. Not totally what you’re asking for but certainly in the spirit

Pineapple is good and not even particularly controversial despite how much the haters seem to want to make it. There was a place I used to live near that did a “cheeseburger” pizza with ground hamburger, onions, pickles, and mustard. I fucking loved it but that thing was CONTROVERSIAL

Jumping into the deep end, lol. It’s a great watch, I hope you enjoy it. The manga just came out of hiatus and we’re supposed to get a second season at some point.
I admit to liking a lot of ecchi comedy, there’s a lot of good shows under that umbrella. This, 100 Girlfriends, My Dress Up Darling, Panty & Stocking, etc. I’m a romcom addict in general and many of them are rather horny.

Everyone is warning about the NSFW aspect of the show, and they’re not wrong, but it’s actually quite good, imo. Story is good, characters and comedy is great, op and Ed are bangers. It does have very explicit (though censored) lesbian scenes and a lot of nudity though. I recommend it if you like ecchi comedies, though I see why people can’t handle it.

It’s really ramping up now, I just finished the first cour. I loved Gurren Lagann and PSG, Kill la Kill feels like the midpoint between them, perfect mix of silly, exciting, and sincere. Probably won’t take me long to finish, I’ve been blasting through it.

I just cannot watch Yano-kun take so much injury. It feels like it’s too much, lol. It’s not charming, it’s sad and maybe he’s got a disability or something, clearly taking a lot of blows to the head.

Excited to have Spy x Family and Ranma 1/2 back, looking forward to much silly action from them this season.
Of the new shows I’ve seen so far, I enjoyed My Awkward Senpai quite a bit, office romances can be hot or miss but this one’s off to a good start at least.
Inexpressive Kashiwada and Expressive Oota also had a decent first episode, though the episode was like 60% slideshow. Budget seems a bit low.
My Little Sister’s Friend Has It In For Me looks nice and is funny, but the premise seems a little problematic. We’ll see where it goes.
I gotta finish Pretty Derby S3 and catch up on Cinderella Gray too.
Unrelated to the new season, I am halfway through Kill la Kill, what a blast.

Yeah the ending fell a little flat because we don’t really know too much about Kaoruko. Everyone else has more development.
