- Comment on Roblox will restrict kids under 13 from chatting outside of games 4 days ago:
Well, they seem want to stick their noses in everything else personal/private that is none of their business and doesn’t affect anyone else but the person involved.
Why not something that actually falls in the category of ‘think of the children’ for once? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- Comment on Roblox will restrict kids under 13 from chatting outside of games 5 days ago:
Every other day Roblox comes out and pink promises they are going to ‘do something’ soon to make it safer for children.
Until the government cracks down on them or they loose a massive lawsuit I don’t see it actually happening.
My niece (who had just turned 13) was showing us the recent update changes she was looking at with Roblox and the chat features. If I understood what she was showing me it appeared to be asking her for her phone number to be able to access the chat features within Roblox.
Why would Roblox need the phone number of a 13 year old kid?
We looked at it a few minutes then showed it to her mom and dad who noped right out of that.

Agreed.
Also in 40k there are no true good guys.
Just a sliding scale of how bad do you want your good to be?
And your true bad guys, well that’s a whole other issue.

Yeah this doesn’t do squat to prove or disprove anything to these nutters.
I’ve done the same with a variety of other things and you will get told the same thing:
God put it here.
Thing is you cannot argue with the above statement because it falls into that sort of argument you used to have when you were a child when the other kid would say ‘Nyah! Last word!!’ or ‘I can’t hear you!!’

Same thing happened to Nest. The cameras and thermostats were great when they were a private company then sh*t the bed when Google took them over.
Google stopped support of their app almost immediately in support of ‘Google Home’ which was to control the thermostat and Camera - which is terrible and requires you to constantly log into it with your email and password if you want to access anything.

- Comment on How do you clean your smart watch? 4 months ago:
So am not a Garmin user (Apple) but for years now I will regularly wash my band with soap and water and regularly wipe the back of the face (the sensor part that comes in contact with your skin) with a cloth soaked lightly in alcohol.
If I am doing some outdoor work or a lot of exercise then I will always do this as well afterwards. My wife ran into some issues with her wrists after getting hers where she developed a rash and found that regularly cleaning of the watch - both band and the sensor area stopped this from happening.

I think the other user pretty much nailed it about the enclosure. Unless you are printing materials that require high heat it is not necessary.
Now if you are in a very dusty environment you might consider one just to avoid the hassle.
However you also may want to look online, there are some simple and fairly inexpensive pop up enclosures that work very well. I have been using one for a while now with mine and I print ABS pretty regularly. I just tore all the electronics out of my printer and printed a control box for it (external) to the outside of the enclosure.

- Comment on "If HBO Made Zelda" - The Untold Story of Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun (Time Extension) 11 months ago:
Am probably gonna get a lot of hate for saying this but…
I remember playing Blood Omen and loving it. It was one of the first games I ever finished. I jumped at Soul Reaver when it came out but when I started playing it really took me a while to get into it. The switch up between the play style was part of the issue but I think the other was the ‘two choice’ option at the end of the game in the first. Doom the world or save it.
Obviously Soul Reaver picks up from the stand point that Kain turned evil but it seemed like such a weird twist of a game play.
Anyway, good article. I had wondered what had happened with this series.

- Comment on OpenAI says it is investigating reports ChatGPT has become ‘lazy’ 11 months ago:
Am late to the game here but after reading the article I would agree.
I use it off and on if I am looking up formulas and scripts and find it a great tool for work. It saves a ton of time. It works great and haven’t noticed any change there. Request it to give/write you a specific formula to solve X and it will. It’s a huge time saver.
But I’ve found recently if I am trying to just find information on a subject that I want summarized or something found on the web and explained it will often ‘recommend I check out the company’s website for the latest news or recent developments.’
That last statement was an exact quote I got recently that made me laugh when I went asking for the explanation of how something worked. It was a NO SHIT SHERLOCK moment I had after getting several of these sort of replies.
I mean I har gotten detailed explanations of string theory ages back from ChatGPI and now it’s telling me ‘ummm just go look it up - I can’t right now…m
