Did anyone else immediately think of Galen Erso?
In all seriousness this is really scary and I’m glad the guy is ok.

Don’t blame you at all for doing that - it’s worth it just to be sorted/folded/hung.

I’m embarrassed to admit that this was me.
My mom had a thing about washing clothes - how they were washed, how they were dried (usually hung up to dry, often over random doorways around the house, never in the dryer) and starching and ironing. And sometimes the socks and underwear would be hung up, too. So if people came over we’d have to hurry up and put all that shit away first. (We didn’t have a dedicated laundry room)
When we went places she would critique other people’s clothes and note if they hadn’t been pressed correctly or something, “they didn’t even use starch on that shirt”, but also she also never showed me how to do it because she was so particular.
So I was already an adult the first time I used a washing machine and I still feel victorious every time I throw all that shit in the dryer.

I have no doubt that this is a good thing and will improve quality of life, however just the concept itself is the stuff of nightmares.
Teeth…just there….growing….

They’ll blame it on Obama, Hillary, Biden, communism, LGBTQ, Black people, immigrants, etc.
They never take the blame - there’s always an ‘other’ to demonize.

I cannot for the life of me figure out the overpasses in this game. I’ve done the tutorials tons of times and when I go to place one in the game, I’m obviously doing something wrong because it won’t let me place it or it places it in some convoluted way that I didn’t want.
I cannot find an explanation. I love the game but ultimately quit playing because of this.

I love that they called him what he is. I wish more in media would.
- Comment on How do I know if a medical issue should be addressed by a Clinic Visit, Urgent Care, or the Emergency Room? 8 months ago:
PSA for those in the US; the Urgent Care type places that advertise “ER” in their title will be absurdly more expensive than “regular” Urgent Care places that do not advertise as such.
The reason is that the “ER” places have actual ER type equipment, but regardless if you use them or not, you will be charged as such.
Maybe this is common knowledge, but we learned the hard way when my partner went in for something very benign and we received a $1,000 bill, even though we had insurance.
These “ER” places are popping up everywhere, and there’s nothing to tell you that if you go down the road a block or so, it could make the difference between a cheaper co-pay and owing the full amount. In our case, almost $1,000.

Unrelated, but what is the origin of this image? I feel like I’ve seen it often over the years and don’t know where it came from originally.
