The web interface is great and easy to use. I liked just dragging and dropping updated files to it, very simple.

I’m not an engineer and I am employed, I do a little scripting for fun. Software developers should learn how to use git but I’m not one :)
- Comment on China is attempting to mirror the entire GitHub over to their own servers, users report 4 days ago:
I hope they copy the web interface too. I stopped using GitHub for my dumb little projects when Microsoft bought them and I can’t be bothered to learn git. I will gladly host my future projects there if it’s good.

It’s not. I want space trains! Just maybe not for the rich which isn’t being proposed. Just saying US healthcare sucks.

I filled out a form wrong so now I just don’t have health insurance until I can re-enroll in the fall. Hope I don’t get sick until then! Also my car’s airbag just malfunctioned, I’m driving very carefully lol.
- Comment on Linux Inventor Says He Doesn’t Believe in Crypto 5 weeks ago:
Why does the headline say “Crypto” but then snippet says “cryptocurrencies”? Do people not realize these are not the same thing? The inventor of Linux does believe in crypto, that’s why it’s in Linux!

Gnome’s demented ideas make it into apps I run in KDE. I don’t need buttons, drop-down menus, and text input fields in my title bar lol. I’m lookin at you, LACT.
- Comment on Microsoft is blocking Windows Customization Tools 2 months ago:
Haha no, it’s technically not an emulator. Emulation means having a whole fake CPU that runs your software. Wine doesn’t do that, instead it makes the windows exe run in Linux and provides an API so the calls your windows program makes run natively.
Tldr emulation is slow, wine makes your programs run natively.
I switched to Linux for gaming a year ago and I have been blown away by how good it is.

- Comment on how did "step" porn become so popular when we did such a good job keeping scat and insest porn out of the mainstream for so long 4 months ago:
Real talk: I found myself watching step family porn because it’s really good for some reason. I don’t give a shit about the story and skip past it. I don’t have any step siblings and don’t have any familial fantasies or anything weird. I just think the women that end up starring in these look hot. I honestly don’t know why.

I’ve never felt more at home! No separate machines, no dualbooting, my games run great :D

Oh I’m very aware, I’ve been running Linux in one way or another for 20 years :)
- Comment on Steam has now officially stopped supporting Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. 5 months ago:
I did ignore it, literally didn’t read it. You have to run code or data from untrusted sources (or be available on a network) to get exploited, and I know that computer wasn’t doing anything high bandwidth otherwise it would affect my gaming. I literally only played games on the install for a couple hours a night and my browser and other software was up to date.
- Comment on Steam has now officially stopped supporting Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. 5 months ago:
It was mainly due to qt dropping support (used by OBS, I could have stayed on an old version) and Steam for the same reason but Chromium. I probably could have kept my old computer and stayed on 7 for longer if I wanted to.

- Comment on Steam has now officially stopped supporting Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. 5 months ago:
Didn’t stop me from gaming on 7 either. I was only gaming on my windows partition so I didn’t worry too much about vulns. Nothing in 8-11 interests me so I thought I’d try all my gaming in Linux and have been blown away by how good it is.
- Comment on China Is Stealing AI Secrets to Turbocharge Spying, U.S. Says 5 months ago:
Operative word here is “could”. Of course US officials say that, because it’s what they’re trying to do. Really they’re just whining about the “stealing” part.
