The company that’s obsessed with putting popup tutorials in every fucking app and os function? Ambient my ass, stop lying.

TIL Github has a CEO.
- Comment on Gamers have you ever been in a game competition or something similar? 2 weeks ago:
I played in a UT2004 tournament at SCALE or LinuxWorld back in the day. I got 2nd or third place and won a Sun backpack and some other swag. First place was a whole ass Sun computer. I played a few Starcraft 2 tournaments but I hate competing in it. It’s a lot of waiting, playing on far servers with worse ping, and playing against much better people a lot of the time.
- Comment on What are some games with absolutely fantastic soundtracks? 2 weeks ago:
OTXO and what’s even more impressive is that the developer of the game made the music himself! GhostRunner had a bangin’ ass soundtrack too.

No, I always pulled out.
- Comment on Lemmy is a tech literate echo chamber 3 weeks ago:
Oh no an echo chamber of people that know things or care about privacy. Do you really think I should go read 4chan or youtube comments to broaden my horizon?

Should have lead with the fact that he’s a GNOME developer, that’s way more gross.
- Comment on What happened to the creator of Gunman Chronicles, Valve's forgotten FPS? 'My relationship with Gabe didn't really go that great' 1 month ago:
I watched some videos of it and it looked really dated and I lost interest haha. I bet having nostalgia for this is probably required.
- Comment on What happened to the creator of Gunman Chronicles, Valve's forgotten FPS? 'My relationship with Gabe didn't really go that great' 1 month ago:
Good article, I just wish it would say why the game still isn’t available. I never played this game but went down a little rabbit hole looking for it and ET: Quake Wars and it’s insane the hoops you have to jump through to play these games that used to sell. I still hope to jump through those hoops one day and try it out.
- Comment on NVIDIA is full of shit 1 month ago:
Don’t you mean NVidia’s goal isn’t selling cards for gamers?
- Comment on Why there are a lot of people migrating from Windows to Linux these days? 1 month ago:
The short version is 2 reasons:
- Microsoft requires Windows 11 computers to have special new hardware that not all computers have. Security updates for Windows 10 ends in 3 months. Many people are faced with a choice of buying a new computer, or installing Linux on their current one to save money. Others realize how much Windows 11 sucks shit and switch because Linux is better.
- Gaming on Linux has gotten a lot better recently. For many people, this was the main thing holding them back. Software support in general is better than ever.

What kind of plant/flower tattoo(s) do you have?
- Comment on If nudity was more widely accepted, tattoos would be more popular. 1 month ago:
Most tattoos just look bad. They stopped being cool a long time ago, old women and conservatives get them now. Most of the time when I see them I think “wow you had disposable income in your early 20s, that’s so cool”.
- Comment on Why was file search much faster in Windows XP than in subsequent versions? 1 month ago:
I’ve noticed this too. I’ve given up on it and instruct others to look for programs in the start menu alphabetically instead of searching because even that is bad. Same with Outlook searches, I instruct people to use webmail because the searching works there.

- Comment on New Nuclear Throne beta build adds 60/120FPS support and quality of life features 1 month ago:
Holy shit I just reinstalled, the new beta is great! For Linux players, make sure you force proton compatibility or else it’ll run the native Linux build which is not the beta. This beta has high FPS and properly locks the mouse into the window!
- Comment on do American drug companies come up with their drug's name, or jingle first 1 month ago:
I’ve always heard that there are people or companies who do nothing but trademark fancy-sounding product names and then sell them to car and drug manufacturers. I read it on the internet so it must be true.

The funny thing is that these are the people that say college is a waste of time. Could you imagine if you or your kids were a student of this guy? I’d sue to get my tuition and lost time back.
