OP, do this, but when you use silicone caulk (kitchen and bathroom stuff), you need to use rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to smooth it out or it will stick to your finger and make a mess. Water works great for latex caulk.

It’s a commonly commiserated problem because it impacts different people to differing degrees. Some are actually impaired by the light, and I imagine others just complain because they have to avert their gaze to the edge of the road but don’t actually lose their night vision. But if you have ever had LASIK, have a vitamin A deficiency, a genetic condition impacting vision, or a more common condition such as diabetes or cataracts, the way light passes through your eye is different than normal and bright lights at night can blind you. You may not notice that you don’t have particularly good night vision unless you are around someone who does. If in doubt, it probably doesn’t hurt to get it checked out, especially if it didn’t bother you when you were younger but does now.

I always thought it was more of a “see an optometrist” flash. Even misaligned HID high beams aren’t more than a minor nuisance for people with normal night vision. But if even factory installed and aimed LED headlights are bothering you enough to completely blind you, you have an underlying condition that may or may not be treatable. Driving at night may not be something these people can do safely. All the more reason for better transit.
- Comment on What is the best way to fix cracks before repainting 9 months ago:
Of note, that stuff works great, but you need to be very sparing with it, as it very difficult to sand compared to the premixed stuff. Make sure you have it as close to the way you want it to look as you are able before you let it dry. A lot of drywallers use this stuff for pre-filling poor, uneven drywall board work before taping, as it is very hard stuff. But it can take a lot longer to dry that way than the bag would suggest. Sheetrock 90 turned into Sheetrock Maybe Tomorrow in my kitchen reno after I used it to replace sections along the edges of some damaged drywall that tore out when I removed the old tile backsplash.

I remember working that one out with my brothers. Every step you take just leads to further problems getting the fish. It was easy to figure out to put the towel over the perfectly towel-sized grate and hang your robe on the hook. Blocking the cleaning robot access panel with Ford’s satchel also seemed to make sense as well. But when we put the stack of junk mail on the satchel and it actually worked? Well holy shit, were we ecstatic. It opens up some of the best parts of the game, though I would argue not as much as figuring out how to get the spare improbability drive to work. I think one of my brothers bought that same guide book long after we retired the C64, so though he knew how to finish it, I don’t think any of us ever did. I remember getting to Magrathea and not ever being able to figure out the proper tool bit. Tried taking the proper tool, and storing another tool in the thing your aunt gave you, but never seemed to work.

I have a 100’ air hose that reaches anywhere in the house. I often run it outside and back in a window somewhere so it doesn’t end up in the way of family. I also have a small compressor for airbrushing rather than running permanent air lines from the garage to my basement workshop. You’ll still want cordless convenience for a drill and some other small tools though.

There are plenty of those places around me, and they advertise agressively everywhere. But there are also the metal scrapyards that will pay YOU for your e-waste. That’s where most of these recycling places take the stuff you paid them to dispose of. If you want the service of having it picked up, I’d say fill your boots, but I will just go the scrapyard with a binful once in a while when I plan to be in the area.

That’s a good point, and is probably why they designed it so that if you swerve hard, lane assist shuts off. It only nudges you back to the middle of the lane if you are gently drifting to a side, so it only works in situations where your turn signal can be used to avoid it. Or you can just disable it if you drive a BMW or otherwise can’t use turn signals.
