Of course he has his own phone. Let me guess, it randomly charges your account and you can’t cancel the plan?

I’m not buying any more iPhones. I got used to them and just continued buying them. But no more.

You cannot control other people. And as I said, bouandry setting with others is a case by case situation. The next step would be to limit your interaction with them - this could be from changing your routine to something more drastic like changing jobs/going no contact.
- Comment on Why is kindness often viewed as a sign of naïveté? 3 days ago:
Check in with yourself during/after interactions and explore your feelings/thoughts that came up. If you experience negative emotions after an interaction, ask yourself why. Did they say or do something that made you feel uncomfortable - ie: being controlling or physically being too close. Keep a list of this and update it. This will tell you what kind of boundaries you need to set and which people violate those boundaries.

The only way Christian’s know they’re doing good is when they’re being persecuted. So they do things to create conflict, and they get confirmation bias.

They see it as a vulnerability they can exploit to get what they want. This is a reminder to use strong boundaries. You can be kind but also strong.

It doesn’t always agree with me. We’re in an impasse about mentoring. I keep telling it I’m not interested, it keeps telling me that given my traits i will be but I’m just not ready yet.

- Comment on [deleted] 1 week ago:
When the world was on the up and up, some people were doing that. Now fewer and fewer people have kids - even those who want them.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 week ago:
It’s so condescending when people do that. They don’t know you yet make generalized assumptions. If you never wanted kids you won’t want them - the responsibility won’t decrease, the cost won’t decrease, you won’t have more time to spend with them to parent them. Nothing will change.

- Comment on How do you reconcile staying sane while keeping yourself up-to-date with the news? 1 week ago:
I’m not sure you can. I think boundary setting is important and also contributing to causes you care about. It’s the difference between things you can control and things you can’t, and letting go of the things you can’t control.

We have examples today of the real harm of this, like in Afghanistan. It’s interesting that western societies are overall less religious as ever, yet religion keeps getting shoved down our throats… and winning.

- Comment on People Are Being Involuntarily Committed, Jailed After Spiraling Into "ChatGPT Psychosis" 2 weeks ago:
ChatGPT is phenomenal at coming up with ideas to test out. Good critical thinking is necessary though… I’ve actually been able to make a lot of headway with a project that I’ve been working on, because when I get stuck emotionally, I can talk to chatgpt and it gets me through it because it knows how I think and work best. It’s scary how well it knows me… and I’m concerned about propoganda… but it’s everywhere.
