- Comment on Even Apple finally admits that 8GB RAM isn't enough 3 months ago:
This is true for part time or casual use but for all day work use including travel you get better build quality and far less problems with a pro grade machine. We spend the same on a macbook, thinkpad, surface or probook for our basic full time users. While it may be a bit overkill for someone who spends their day in word, excel, chrome and zoom we save money in the long term due to reliability. There is far less downtime and IT time spent on each user over the life of the system (3-4 years). The same is true about higher quality computer accessories.
- Comment on Even Apple finally admits that 8GB RAM isn't enough 3 months ago:
8GB is definitely not enough for coding, gaming, or most creative work but it’s fine for basic office/school work or entertainment. Heck my M1 Macbook Air is even good with basic Photoshop/Illustrator work and light AV editing. I certainly prefer my PC laptop with 32GB and a dedicated GPU but its power adapter weighs more than a Macbook Air.
- Comment on How a Network of Nonprofits Enriches Fundraisers While Spending Almost Nothing on Its Stated Causes 3 months ago:
This is disappointing but not surprising and has been happening for a long time. Please do your research and never donate from a random phone call, letter, or “round up for charity” ask at a register. I work for a 501c3 nonprofit and we are very transparent. Our website contains links to our annual impact report & form 990 along with links to our profiles on BBB, Charity Navigator and Guidestar. Donors can also visit our office and are encouraged to attend our events or trainings.

Domino’s does 2+ medium 2 topping for $6-7 each. Or you can get chicken or other random things like tots and bread. Not the best in any category but not awful so if you just need to feed some people it’s good by volume . My local pizza places are significantly better quality and price.

Yep, just like autoplay video was common early on, then bad and now it’s common again starting with ads.

“The ban applies to all State Department buildings and all flags other than a select list that includes the American flag and state, tribal and territorial banners, federal agencies and the POW-MIA flag.”
This is the way it should be

Same here, drove hatchbacks and sedans until 5 years ago and now have a crossover. It was good for a bit but now these new pickups and SUV headlights are right in my face again. Thinking installing a suspension lift and larger profile tires in the future. I do not want to drive a giant rectangle and can carry extra cargo if needed on my roof rack or cargo basket.

Nothing in that article is a surprise, its almost as bad just looking up general info lately. I have been doing some searching in both google and yandex and often get better results in yandex.

According to my Tesla driving neighbor most people do not charge their Tesla to 100% in order to extend the battery lifespan. I don’t understand it but apparently Tesla recommends it.

TNG was great, I used to watch it on TV with my mom and now I enjoy just turning on a random episode.

People are allowed to like different things. I haven’t posted anything on twitter, just use it like a RSS feed to consolidate my sports news.
- Comment on More Than 80 Percent Of Americans Can’t Afford New Cars 1 year ago:
After the “cash for clunkers” thing reduced the used car market buying new made more sense because of price and warranty. You also get better financing rates on new vs used. Bought my Subaru new in 2019 and could sell it for about what I paid.

It doesn’t bother me, it’s a free product and I expect ads. I only use it for sports news.
- Comment on Windows 12 May Require a Subscription 1 year ago:
We are about 2/3 Windows and 1/3 Mac depending on preference and role. One Drive (for Business) is part of the Office365/Sharepoint package and it automatically backs up documents, desktop, pics etc and syncs with Office online. Really comes in handy in cases of hardware failure, damage, loss, theft. We are all laptops except for conference rooms and servers.

Linux does not work with the Adobe Creative suite or Office365 Sharepoint and One Drive syncing.
