Check the extruder tension arm. If you have the plastic one it may be cracked.

- Comment on Microsoft is confident Windows on Arm could finally beat Apple 7 months ago:
There’s nothing that an Arm processor can add to Windows that will make me choose it over a Mac. I just like the user experience of Mac a lot more than Windows.
- Comment on What is on your "things to 3d print" list? 8 months ago:
I use PrusaSlicer and their Ender profiles with no tinkering and get consistently perfect prints.
- Comment on Everything about TOML format - Orchard Dweller 9 months ago:
In my opinion, the settings file isn’t where this information should be presented. I would put these notes in the release log and readme and example settings file. I have also written this information to logging during startup so a user knows what to do, or I write a migration that does the change automatically if that’s possible.
This is only my opinion and you can use the comment method described like
“//“: “Deprecated”
if desired. - Comment on Everything about TOML format - Orchard Dweller 9 months ago:
For settings files I always have an example file with sensible values filled in and along with descriptive keys that serves as reasonable documentation. If something is truly unknowable, I’ve probably done something wrong.
- Comment on Everything about TOML format - Orchard Dweller 9 months ago:
So it’s good for things that don’t change, or things you have to change by hand, which gives it almost zero utility for any project that I’ve worked on.
- Comment on Everything about TOML format - Orchard Dweller 9 months ago:
Every time I have reached for TOML I have ended up using JSON. The first reason is that Python standard library can read but not write TOML, which is generally useless for me. The second reason is all values are strings. The third reason is TOML does not add any benefit over JSON. It’s not that much easier to read and IMO JSON is easier to write by hand because the syntax rules are completely obvious.

- Comment on Prusa MK4 vs Bambu P1S 10 months ago:
TBH I’m not a huge fan of using the nozzle for probing, but I wouldn’t call it a flaw. It works pretty well as long as the nozzle is clean.
- Comment on Prusa MK4 vs Bambu P1S 10 months ago:
The MK4 touches the nozzle to the bed during probing where the MK3 does not. I do the same with my nozzle temp on the MK3 which I don’t know why Prusa hasn’t just made as standard yet.
- Comment on AppleTV complete replacement opinions 10 months ago:
You close apps by double tapping the TV/control button then swipe up, similar to other iOS devices. It’s rarely necessary but super easy.
- Comment on What's your favorite note-taking application? 10 months ago:
Notable. Cross platform (no mobile app), sync with cloud drive of your choice, markdown support, easy interface.
- Comment on how much backing up would you do of a media server? 11 months ago:
It’s different because when you need a tire, you need it now. When you need a movie it can wait 5 minutes.
- Comment on Prusa or Bambu? 11 months ago:
I really like the open nature of Prusa. I won’t tolerate a printer that requires a propriety web service to use like Bambu. I have a Prusa Mini, MK3S, and now the XL, and I am happy about how easy they are to operate and maintain. Every printer is a winner and only gets better with every release. I’m a customer for life.
That said, the cost is a little higher than I’d like and the technology is often a little behind (a bit like my Apple products) but the reliability is so good that it’s completely worth it.

- Comment on Prusa MK3S+ with Revo - how do I fix PETG blobs and filament sticking to the nozzle? 1 year ago:
- dry the filament - most filament is wet even if it is brand new
- calibrate flow rate
- calibrate first layer (nozzle height)
- Comment on What can i do with 3d models as an everyday joe? 1 year ago:
It would be better if they share the site/ai model they’re using so people can do this for themselves. Thingiverse doesn’t need an influx of likely unprintable random models

I think it’s worth it in this case. Synology platform (as you must know) is far more than a storage solution and basically runs my entire home.
- Comment on Prusa MINI FW-5.1.0a input shaping first print. (15min benchy) 1 year ago:
I installed and have been testing the new firmware with great results. I was a little disappointed that the bonkers benchy kind of cheated by using lightning infill, single exterior walls, and less top/bottom layers, but it was super satisfying watching the print head whip around. I need to refresh the bearings before I print too much else.
- Comment on Prusa MINI is getting Input Shaper and Pressure Advance (currently in alpha) 1 year ago:
I installed this last night. I had to adjust the belts to get the Mini to home, but then everything worked and the “bonkers” benchy came out surprisingly well.
