If it’s been a while, does that mean romaine lettuce has killed before? Am I complacent about a green killer among us?
I was around for all the lettuce related outbreaks at Chipotle in 2015. The stock price tumbled like 40% because of that. Bunch of people got salmonella and E. coli.
Time to start microwaving my lettuce! Or (more reasonably), just keeping it cleaner/fresher than some unfortunate minimum-wage fast-food worker.
Romaine says you’d better keep sewage runoff out of its water supply, if you know what’s good for you.
However, it has not been a while since we killed romaine lettuce.

Let’s not forget that this happens because of poor regulations that make it easy for contaminated water to get into the produce fields.
