Needing a new belt going the other direction felt like a huge win.
Wear marks on a belt are like rings on a tree.

Me too. On the inside thankfully. I did get a tad large there for a bit.

This is why I’ve switched to suspenders

I have been thinking of switching. Suspenders make way more sense. With a belt, my pants still fall down unless I have the belt so tight it cuts off circulation. It’s just cinching the pants around my waist and movement can cause them to slip. But suspenders literally hold them up from your shoulders. Ain’t no way they’ll slip.

After two days I finally get that you’re not talking about non existent rings around the belt holes but are talking about the buckle lines on the belt in between the belt holes.

Rings indicate a tree needs to lose weight?

Rings indicate a stretchy belt

In the pic it looks like they’re loosening the belt and not tightening

No, but rings indicate OP’s mom lost weight

I had to add new holes onto my belt because it was getting too stretched out and slack.
