Yes! My normal speed already has a built-in data limit by virtue of the possible data with that speed over the billing period.

- Comment on The reason prosthetics are so good in Star Wars is because the Jedi use live lightsabers to train. 3 days ago:
Maybe it’s a chicken and egg thing. They could’ve started using live lightsabers because the prosthetics are so good.

Tip for next time: shine a bright light across the wall to cast shadows and really emphasize any imperfections. I do this while sanding, and circle with pencil anything that needs another coat of mud to fix then go back and take care of those.

There’s a decent chance one or both species carries some form of microscopic life that the other has no defenses against
I’d argue there’s essentially zero change we’d be biologically similar enough for any microbes to bridge the gap. It’s a big deal when microbes jump species here on earth

Wait, I haven’t paid for text messages in probably 15 years. Where do they still charge for SMS? It’s usually unlimited with any plan that I’ve seen

Sure, but why aren’t these companies having to pay for the damage they cause? People wouldn’t buy their stuff if it was the true price.

- Comment on Does anyone speak hairdresser? I need help communicating. 3 weeks ago:
Maybe it’s that you’re asking for a style that’s “unfashionable” or atypical for someone with your look so the hairdresser is second-guessing you know what you’re asking for. I bet a lot of the time they try instructions as vague as “make it shorter and look good”. They’ll err on the side of leaving it s bit long knowing they can always take a bit more off and sneak up to the desired length when it’s beyond what the normal style is.
Just get it to the length you want, then ask the hairdresser what it’s called/how to describe it and take a couple of pictures as well and you should be set for next time.

That’s either a very over-engineered hamster wheel, or that grinder was under spec’d.

- Comment on Don't let it stop you from eating your egg salad sandwich, Karen! 1 month ago:
Correct. The picture is not great, but you can see the racking that implies there’s at least one other door so this could be a larger commercial fridge running 3 phase
- Comment on Don't let it stop you from eating your egg salad sandwich, Karen! 1 month ago:
I’ve seen this happen when the condenser coil is outside and during electrical work to the building the phases were swapped so the unit essentially ran in reverse.
