    when people say this I always think of the little tray of wheatgrass I used to grow on my counter sometimes

    touching it was just about as useful as anything else you could do with it

  Just ask your instance’s admins not to federate with threads. If they federate anyway, consider switching instances.

  So you don't actually believe ActivityPub should be an open protocol? Walled gardens are more your style, enforcing preferences on who can connect to whom and who can share what?

    ActivityPub should be an open protocol, yes. Just like, say, mail is an open “protocol”.

    You’re still prohibited from sending child pornography, explosives, dangerous chemicals, etc. through the mail.

    Gee, I wonder how that works!

    May I recommend thought? It does wonders for not making you look like you wear clown pants.
