Yea I could see that, I’m the head of IT for a location in my company and a staff of ~900 utilizes around 100 different applications at my site alone. Add up all our different apps throughout the org and that probably triples even though we’ve been attempting to standardize for nearly a decade.
Keep in mind each of our sites operates what would normally be 3-7 separate businesses with their own IT but in our world one IT runs it all. (Casino IT here)
I’d say workers are overworked more than they’re over-apped

At the bank where I’m working at we have MS Teams, Webex, Skype and Symphony for chat and videoconferencing. They’re paying for all of them + a bunch of other useless software licenses, but at the same time the top management is still wondering how they can reduce costs 🤔

Can I have Visual Assist to code faster and better?
No it’s too expensive.

Don’t you know that the only way we can afford that is to fire a few people first? smh

Similar situation here for the last couple years with chat and meeting apps, plus file store app, document app, etc. We are finally ditching everything extraneous. Can’t happen soon enough. Having to check 4 different apps for missed messages is insane.
