The most eerie, quaint and green little mountain country I’ve been to. So clean! So green! With the best kept most well-fed worker slaves of all the countries! Public screens and newspapers let them know every day how awful, stupid, poor and problematic the rest of the world is. Sorry, Switzerland, for being too cynical to enjoy your beautiful scenery these days.

tbf, it sounds a bit like you might not enjoy any country’s beautiful scenery these days.

Slowly turning into a crone is one hell of a drug, but between being grumpy and cynical I also take time to enjoy my local scenery. Who knows when they start digging it up for Tungsten again

I agree with the Nazi gold part, but aren’t peace talks held in geneva from time to time? Being a facilitator is a way of involving yourself in global politics, my point being neutrality ≠ no involvement.
Also if you include chocolate, shouldn’t there also be representation of watches, army knives and bank accounts?

Must be a lot of cocoa plants growing in that renowned tropical swiss climate (definitely not sourced from congolese slave labour)

Say what you will about Switzerland, but their flag is a big plus.

Explanation: During WW2, Switzerland, as per its custom, was neutral. However, Swiss ’neutrality’ included allowing the Nazis to launder a great deal of their ill-gotten loot, including from the national treasuries of the countries the Nazis conquered, and the literal bodies of dead Jews in the Holocaust. When the war ended, the infamously opaque Swiss banking system made much of that wealth that was being laundered conveniently ‘disappear’ rather than allowing survivors any attempt to retrieve it.

This is only partially true. The bit that’s off is that it all just vanished. The accounts got dug into in the 90s and in 1998 the banks settled for $1.25 billion that went to survivors and heirs. Way too late and only because they got pressured into it, but the money did get paid out.

They also sold weapons to both sides btw

I mean, they allowed anyone to launder their money. That’s what neutrality is
