Not if you’re Uyghur.
- Comment on In the US we have signs that say No Shirt No Shoes No service. When did this become a norm? Also if I am wearing a shirt and shoes but no pants can I still enter? 16 hours ago:
This confused my literal autistic brain so much growing up in the 90s. I always wondered why they didn’t include shorts/pants. Beach culture originated these signs. Bottoms aren’t included because women would enter wearing bikini bottoms and they explicitly did not have a problem with that.

They stole our data to build it. Now they want to charge us to invest in it. The audacity of the billionaire has no bounds.

- Comment on YSK that Politico is a subsidiary of Axel Springer, a right-wing propaganda house 1 week ago:
I don’t disagree with this. But why don’t we ever see these disclaimers identifying left-wing bias? Nobody is unbiased. To ignore it on the left is highly problematic.

Moore’s Law isn’t quite dead. And quantum computing is a generation away. Computers will continue getting exponentially faster.

To everyone shitting on the article because of where AI is now: remember how little time passed between will smith spaghetti and sora 2?
- Comment on US | NBC appears to cut crowd’s booing of JD Vance from Winter Olympics broadcast 2 weeks ago:
We knew people would boo. He knew people would boo. NBC knew people would boo. We knew they would censor it. He knew they would censor it. They knew they would censor it.
- Comment on 4 weeks ago:
There’s immense potential for character builds but almost no incentive to explore them. You feel the wasted potential as you play. The story is compelling enough to enjoy the experience but not enough to fill the empty pit you feel once you’re done. That’s how I feel about the first game. Does it apply to the second?

- Comment on Ed Zitron on big tech, backlash, boom and bust: ‘AI has taught us that people are excited to replace human beings’ 5 weeks ago:
AI truly has the capacity to topple billionaire hegemony and democratize/socialize everything. The hype we see from CEOs is a rebranding of their own fear. They want to control this tech so it doesn’t erase their power, which is why they are so invested in concentrating its power in datacenters as well as seeking AGI. Concentrating power is how they control it. It’s the reason they fight everything from unions to OSHA to work from home - these all undermine their power. They view AGI as the magical tool that will be hosted in a datacenter and allow them to maintain control over AI in general. They are flying too close to the sun. We are not the ones who should be afraid.

Arrogant clanker-adjacents feigning emotion when their propaganda is called out.
- Comment on If president abductions are something that can apparently just happen how come Putin or Kim Jong Un aren't in some foreign prison right now? 1 month ago:
I think your premise that it was easy is misinformed. We likely used modern classified tech to pull it off. There are reports emerging of anomalies related to common router vulnerabilities in Caracas. We don’t know how the operation was conducted and probably won’t know any time soon. Kidnapping a head of state is unprecedented. The Trump admin would absolutely use new tech to do this in a show of military prowess.
- Comment on Evidence 1 month ago:
That’s what happens when you grow up with the National Enquirer in every checkout line and there’s no internet to fact check anything. The GOP has been grooming the whole generation since Nixon.

Copyright circumvention is the lie YouTubers tell themselves as they shamelessly feed their ego. They’re imagining all their followers laughing because they thought something was funny. Copyright circumvention is the useful product distilled by human ingenuity out of the toxic cesspool this market created as it feeds upon the attention capacity of the youth of the world.

- Comment on What is the difference between an American liberal and a liberal outside the USA? 1 month ago:
American conservatives have capitalized on denigrating the word “liberal” so thoroughly that using it in a remotely similar vein makes us ignore you immediately.
- Comment on Larian CEO Responds to Divinity Gen AI Backlash: 'We Are Neither Releasing a Game With Any AI Components, Nor Are We Looking at Trimming Down Teams to Replace Them With AI' 2 months ago:
The cat’s out of the bag. Focus your energy on stopping fascist oligarchs then regulating AI to be as green and democratic as possible. Or sit back and avoid it out of ethical concerns as the fascists use it to target and eliminate you.
- Comment on Welcome to the Post-Naive Internet Era 2 months ago:
The subset of human behavior includes predation. It’s in our DNA, whether it is in you or not. It’s this fact we can’t forget or become naive about.
- Comment on So now that it's that time of year again in the US, what are some tips and tricks for dealing with that one relative who goes on about the same bullshit for hours and won't shut the fuck up? 2 months ago:
Someone who becomes suicidal because you won’t listen to them rant is addicted to power and control. You’d ultimately be doing them a favor helping them wean themselves off it. You can’t be responsible for someone’s actions in this state. It’s a diametric opposite to, say, someone who is depressed/suicidal because they cannot afford food. They do not need you to listen to them. Tell them to fuck off.
- Comment on Trump threatens ABC News in Oval Office meltdown 2 months ago:
There’s no evidence he died any other way. Just because we all believe you-know-who would do it doesn’t mean he did. If you know it was homicide, do you also buy the National Enquirer for the latest news about aliens?
- Comment on How has there not yet been a leak of the Epstein files? Surely there is someone with access to them that could have been subject to worldwide pressure to let something out. 3 months ago:

Under- car sensors is a great idea and the kind of innovation required for this tech to reach universal adoption. Waymo is already safer than human drivers IMO but let’s keep going until it’s significantly safer with verifiable data and capabilities humans cannot have. And we have to address its connection to big tech for “safety under fascism” purposes.
