What a throwback. I remember when the engine was sold for 100 bucks for hobbyist and tinkering with it years later.
Good times.

YESSSSSSS. I played a mod called renegades that had some different weapons, classes, and things like deployable base defenses. It was SUCH a fun game. Few things will ever match the cool factor of aerial disc duels.
My favorite game of maybe all time. You could go god mode in multiplayer and grab a player and chuck them across the map.
Shazbot!
(Also I still have the same Allsop Raindrop mouse pad suggested by fellow Tribes/Quake players. What a time)
Yeah exactly! One from 2007 and one earlier than that. Man, what a tank.
Never played the original but absolutely loved tribes ascend. Such a unique and satisfying game. To bad hirez abandoned it.
Goddamn, yeah. I dont play a lot of competitive multiplayer, but I actually was decent at tribes ascend. I remember in whichever game mode where you have to hold the flag for as long as possible I was pretty decent. I wasn't great at shooting people, but once I got that flag I could skate so fast it was tough for people to catch me.
Simply nothing like it nowadays.
this making me all nostalgic

I never played the first one, but Tribes 2 and Tribes: Ascend were my jam. I still actively miss Tribes: Ascend. With a little more love, it could have been the most perfect Tribes game.
