YSK that text conveys information much better than video.

I think seeing the drink immediately fizz up massively was worth having the information come via video.

…am I really the only one who bought fucking metal straws with silicon tips and the tools to clean them years and years ago now?

This seems like a solved problem.

The video does end with that recommendation, but personally I often find myself out and about thinking “I wish I had brought a straw”. They don’t fit in pockets very well, and I don’t usually carry a bag.

Have you got a good brand recommendation? I have a pair (gifted) and I want to get more, but couldn’t find a good similar option I liked online.

No, mine was some generic nonsense from Fred Mayer years ago that isn’t available anymore.

Not explaining that we had biodegradable plastic straws from natural materials (still cellulose) that you can’t really distinguish from the fossil fuel plastic ones even before the ban is also sad. I bet there are massive forces funneling these paper/cardboard ones to local suppliers just to fight the change.

In my view straws of any material are useless as a concept and waste of natural resources. They are among the first things we should completely get rid of and ban forever. We could 100% live without them without any effect whatsoever on anyones quality of life.
