Roblox is so fucked up, this would at least be “some” hurdle. It’s the worst way to go about it, but at this point it’s better than nothing. I just hope this will not become standard. You know, for privacy reasons.

No, having children upload facial images to verify there age??? In the age of AI and deep fakes, or I don't know selling that data to other entries with far more nefarious purposes.
This dude doesn't care about kids, he sent a cease and desist to someone who actually was doing something and caught six predators on the platform.
He also said Roblox could be a dating platform which is a red flag since they probably know there platform attracts child predators.
If that wasn't enough of reason he donated $2.5M to the White House Ballroom.

Yeah this is all completely insane, the ‘solution’ here isn’t a solution (its not hard to generate a fake face) and as you say, its actually a problem itself… give up your face, so they can selp it to Grok, so Grok can churn out synthetic CSAM.
This is all fucking nuts.

I fear it's actually worse than nothing, due to the precedent it'll set for other platforms.

All these images will get leaked if they haven‘t already. It‘s a nightmare situation.

In a world with a bit more trust, I feel like this is what blockchain/certificates would be for. Basically someone would make a signed statement from a lawyer or witness that “This user with email address xyz is over the age of 18.” Contains no other data, and the notary would be trusted not to collect any more than needed. Then, websites could verify the signature against a public key from the firm.
Instead we get this Orwellian mess.

There’s nothing to stop them selling that email address with cert.

Very true. What is the method for this to work

This is not how you’re supposed to do this, as this is digital ID. More like facial doxxing, which is what Builderman clearly didn’t call for.
Thankfully, my producer abandoned his account.
