I wanted to add wheels to my hammock so I could easily move it into shade throughout the day. Some openscad later and came up with this little bracket. Uses a clevis pin for an axle, and just pops into the metal tube feet of the hammock. 3d printed bracket to hold an axle
I guess now you have a place to rest when you’re wheely tired.

I was about to ask whether you were one of those to set up a printing-gantry in the garage for that extra print volume until I realized you were only talking about the wheels.
Is that PLA, or something else?
Have you done any stress testing to see how much load the can handle?

For your edit, you don’t want the direction of shear forces right along the layer lines. This is less pretty but will be much stronger for the intended purpose.

Yup, exactly this. And with the tear drop holes, there’s no need for support material in this orientation.

Haha, this was just printed on my voron. Although a giant garage printer would be pretty cool.
I printed this in ASA to help with the heat. No scientific stress testing but I’ve been using it for a week or so without issue. And with this print orientation it should be strong enough, since the forces are perpendicular to the layer lines. If it does break, the hammock would drop maybe an inch so I’m not worried.

I used to know a guy who built a garage printer back in the repeal days. His plan was to print ABS garden furniture.
