Everyone's hilariously ragging on OP for setting up a federated instance with dubious uptime, and I'm sittin' here thinking that it just reminds me of me when I was a young kid hacking around with software.
Back then I set up a mediawiki server with very dubious uptime. Was fun 😂

I recommend you finding a way to not have the computer turned off too often. Federation can handle a bit of downtime, but I don’t know how much exactly.

Fair enough. I have a domain but it was free so i can’t change the nameservers for Cloudflare.
Buddy I don’t think you’ll have users to moderate. It’s a personal instance, that’s fine.
