Hot take I guess, but this is exactly why it’s NOT a cult. If it was a cult, his followers would be falling in line and he wouldn’t be scrambling for details to satisfy them with. That’s the one way this is not a cult.

Trump has capitalized on the MAGA movement and maybe given it its name. But he didn’t create the movement and the underlying social end economical problems in the US that are fueling the movement are not going away. Even though the “answers” thought by the movement are often misguided.
