This is like the 3rd or 4th time this (mis)information is posted, and has to be corrected in comments. There’s a very large discrepancy between “all of Denmark” and "this one tiny ministry in Denmark. Journalism really has just become “how to out-clickbait others, no matter if objectively false”.

Good luck.

Very misleading title. No, we are not, not any time soon. Denmark is very much a Microsoft country and there’s so many dependencies, it is simple not realistic to do it anytime soon. I only heard of a test in a government department, sorry.

LOL this article cites ZDNet, which cites thelocal.dk, which cites politiken.dk, which is written in Danish and paywalled so…

Good to clear that up, thanks!

How did we expect it to start. Of course one ministry should switch at a time to get the best transition possible.
Switching all infrastructure at once would be insane.

Yeah, isn’t this fake news? Schleswig-Holstein in Germany are doing it, but I could not find any sources citing the same happening in Denmark.

We count those.

Both Aarhus and Copenhagen municipalities have decided this, and the ministry of Digitization is pioneering it for government administration. The decision so far primarily regards MS Office and MS cloud services, and MS Windows.
Also the government has decided to make guidelines to make the switch away from American software and services easier. These guidelines are meant both for public services AND private businesses.
We haven’t seen any results yet, but at least the political decision seems very clear. The goal is to end dependency on American software and services for Denmark. Which is in line with a similar decision earlier this year for EU.

A step in the fight direction is what we should take out from this.
Its great news even though it’s not the whole country. Which would be insane to do all at once.
