Oh no… Is there no alternative as of now? (I use J2K)

Why don’t pirate sites just shut down entirely when they get out of the game? I remember when fuwanovel went straight (into the trash) and lost all relevancy.

Just noticed that a lot of series I follow had entire groups deleting their own chapters.

Maybe they hope to pivot like Crunchyroll did.

“I heard there’s an option to become the villain.”

Unfortunate but completely understandable. Time to look for alternatives.

OOF
Having the uploader be liable for copyright infringement will kill MD for obvious reasons
Wrufieotnak@feddit.org 1 year ago
And what is in your eyes the difference to MD having the liability? Both are fans doing things for the community.
The person writing this knows it’s bad to be liable but expects MD to take that liability. Strange thought to me.
I’m only a reader myself, but I stool thought everybody involved knew that the possibility of an DMCA takedown always existed.

From the translator of The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold to Another Kingdom.
This is already the third group that is dropping out of MangaDex.

A Mangadex alternative that are decentralized via ActivityPub, where groups can host their own instance with P2P image hosting seems cool.
Imagine having your manga updates directly showed on feed (if you want, some group release on Facebook already doing this, mostly oneshot).
